What a week for space exploration. And it just so happens my new book is launching today in the UK, and later this year in the US. It’s a look at The International Space Station - with International being the key word. 15 countries worked together to create one of the greatest feats of engineering in human history. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when humanity is at its best and works together. I hope the ISS and now the Artemis missions remind people everywhere of that fact for many years to come. Huge thanks to Louise and @amprimmer at Walker Books, and @libbyjackson__ for her expertise , the book wouldn’t be possible without them ! by @markus_motum

Olivia and Markus got married at the beautiful @hestercombegdns in Taunton, Somerset. I was gobsmacked when Markus told me that one of the reasons they chose their wedding date was based around my availability. Two of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with, they just radiated such a lovely calm energy - I can’t really put it into words! I would have travelled half way round the world to work with these guys. To give you an idea of the sort of amazing people they are, Markus is an incredible illustrator who makes wonderful children’s books and Olivia is a critical care nurse. Markus’s heartfelt speech thanking Olivia for not only being an incredible partner and best friend, but for all the hard work she does for the NHS for people when they’re at the worst moments in their life, really hit me. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, including mine! ❤️ Here are a few teasers from a really lovely day x Olivia and Markus’ dream team: Venue : @hestercombegdns Florist : @brambleandwild MUA : @harrietgallon.muah Dress : @larabellebridal Accessories : @clarelloydaccessories Suits : @territotailoring Cake : @laurenamycakes DJ : @prescott_entertainment Illustrator : @anna_fashion_illustration Harpist : @bristolharpist Videographer : @storyboxfilmsuk // #ukweddingphotographer #londonweddingphotographer #destinationweddingphotographer #weddingphotographer #weddingphotography #weddingmoments #realmoments #authenticstorytelling #timelessweddingphotography #elegantweddingphotography #stylishweddingphotography #alternativeweddingphotography #funweddingphotography #weddingstyling #gettingmarried #luxurywedding #weddingphotographyinspiration #hestercombe #hestercombegardens #hestercombewedding #hestercombehouse taken in Hestercombe Gardens by @markus_motum

Happy Friday! Phew we made it. Here’s a couple of plants which were bought in lieu of not having a garden last year during lockdown. They still look exactly like these studies and are 100% definitely very much still alive yep #neonpothos #illustration #plants #plantsofinstagram by @markus_motum

Time to post some internal pics from #ducksoverboard I think! Getting to draw just a fraction of the colourful life that inhabits our oceans was a real highlight. by @markus_motum

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it ! This landing , equal parts brilliant and insane , is how Curiosity arrived safely on Mars years ago and now it’s Perseverance’s turn . If you decide to watch the NASA team live for this , expect to be a nervous wreck by the end ! #countdowntomars by @markus_motum

Super happy to reveal my second picture book with Walker is out now ! Been super busy behind the scenes here but had to break my Instagram silence to say thanks to the team at Walker for their work on this project , it’s always so surreal and a little nerve wracking before receiving a finished copy but they did an amazing job with the production and finish of this, I couldn’t be happier! Looking forward to sharing more from this book and more illustration in general throughout 2021 , consider it my New Years resolution ! ——————————————————— #Repost @walkerstudio with @download_repost ・・・ Publishing today – “Ducks Overboard: A True Story of Plastic in Our Oceans” from acclaimed author-illustrator Markus Motum!
