Our absolute favorite course to play together, Maderas in No. County. Classic coastal California canyon layout. Lush true greens that gave up three birds and an eagle between us. We also left 4 less than 3” from the hole that resulted in par. What a fantastic day to be with my youngest, who carries a single digit. We might just move here and play everyday. Happiest of birthdays to my true love. It was those perfect blue eyes that captured me from the beginning. She is peaceful, creative and above all caring. End of an era. This is a picture of Mary’s classroom door at Oakwood Elementary in Peoria Unified School District. She removed her name today, on her last day as an elementary art teacher there. She just completed her 26th year in PUSD. She is also a graduate of Cactus High School where she was the homecoming queen. She also won the Pride of Peoria award while teaching at Sun Valley. She wanted to finish her career there but now reluctantly leaves due to the absolute decline of the once great district. Both our children thrived there; Katie was valedictorian of her class at Cactus and Cole was an all state shortstop there. Mary led her colleagues as the Red for Ed coordinator at Oakwood. She was highly respected throughout the district for her curriculum development and classroom management. She is leaving to teach 40 mins away from our home. Right now she has a two minute commute. She is leaving because our community does not support public education. As you all know our budget override failed. The political climate has been become intolerable and asinine. Our board is actively trying to defund the district. The voters have been convinced to hate educators and erode our democracy. Is enrages me and makes me quit our community. So we will be leaving the home her father built 40 years ago. We do this without regret but sadness that it might be too late for this part of the valley. Not much more to say. by @markwfritz

They call her mama. They somehow, connect with her everyday. Their relationships is based in pure love that shows up as endless warmth and deep laughter. They are all beautiful, complete souls. Anyone who knows our family will tell you that I give her 75% of the credit for our success as parents. I am so grateful for you Mary Karen, you are one of a kind. I love you. LA is one of the greatest food cities where I have noshed. Getting out of the typical westside haunts, we cruised to Silver Lake to try the esteemed Azizam. Solid Persian cuisine.
