For those fans of season 3 of Dance of Dragons, the latest Game of Thrones universe offering, they may be aware that Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen is married to King Consort Daemon Tarygayen, her uncle.

This is known as an avunculate marriage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avunculate_marriage

What is not well known is that Australia is one of only 15 countries where such marriages are legal . by @markwhalan

Put the kettle on

Its a unconscious habit I have now, to constantly put the kettle on, as a form of self care, warmth, a sense of welcome .
I often don’t make anything and find myself half ab hour later putting the kettle on,
An invocation of past memories of tragedies dealt with a cup of tea and celebrated with a cup of coffee
No it’s quiet and still, and no tragedy of despair and not exuberance or victory.

The sound of warm steam, anticipation
and of hope of shared times, stories and aspirations even when I am now alone
Tea and coffee are a way of coping of pausing for self abstraction, when the news is terrible or wonderful or the silence is not broken by any news at all.
The kettle is a memory marker, a visitor ritual, a smell of warm bread, mother and the safe soft lights of home.
Hang on, I’ll just put the kettle on. by @markwhalan
