#worldbipolarday If you told me in March of 2020 what this past month would look like I would be floored. Living a successful, fulfilling life while managing my bipolar disorder is something that I once wondered could be possible. I had seen mostly negative things related to bipolar prior to my diagnosis. I remember googling ā€˜successful people with bipolar disorderā€ just to have some hope to cling onto because I was scared. So this caption is for 2020 me. Keep your head up kid :)

March has truly been a testament to my support system and the work that I have put into my mental and physical health. I ran a half marathon and traveled nonstop for work filming (giving bus, club, another club, plane, train). I hope I never come across as cocky or narcissistic on this account because my posts come from a place of gratitude.

I want to be more open about mental health on this account to help reverse some of the stigmas. Personally, I wouldn’t hire an artist that wasn’t a lil mentally ill. I want that free range, mentally ill art that AI can’t replicate. I am forever grateful to my support system of family and friends that hold me accountable and act as my voice of reason when I’m questioning things. Mental health, like physical health takes daily routine and consistency to see results and that is why I never take it for granted - a curated mess by @markyeattes

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing the Ocean Days Festival in Paris on behalf of @kurationstudio. Ocean Days has established itself in six editions as one of France’s leading events for ocean conservation. The principle is simple: to raise public awareness through sport, art, and culture, and to convey a message of hope for future generations. On Friday my neighbor Tak turned 90 and I asked him to lunch. We had sandwiches at Garnett’s and talked about life. I showed him pictures from my recent trip to Paris and he shared stories about his time as a pathologist and his travels. He said he doesn’t bother to read menus anymore and told me he’d have whatever sandwich I ordered. I let him know the sandwich I ordered had picked jalapeños and asked if he was okay with spicy food. He said Americans had a low tolerance for spicy food and that pickled jalapeños aren’t that spicy. That cracked me up. He also said there is much more variety in food options in America now compared to when he came in 1964. He said he doesn’t make a fuss about birthdays which made me kind of nervous about the surprise ice cream social our neighborhood had planned for that evening. I was like damn he’s either gonna love that or hate it! I think he ended up really enjoying it. He even had a white claw ha. I started this project to document him turning 90 but there’s no turning back now! Tak said he has to live at least 5 more years so he can finish the research he is currently working on. Thanks to my neighbors Meredith and Ashley for helping plan the ice cream social and my sister Mary for getting the ice cream. Shot on my #leicaq3 taken in Garnett's Cafe by @markyeattes

2026 marks 10 years of Yeattes Productions!

Beyond grateful for everyone who has shown us encouragement and support along the way. This career has given me the opportunity to travel the world, film in some of the most beautiful places, and experience more than I ever could have imagined when I started in 2016.

One of my favorite parts of this industry though, will always be the people. The clients who trust Yeattes Productions to tell their stories, and the friends and fellow creatives I’ve had the privilege of working alongside who are endlessly talented and inspiring.

Monetizing your creativity definitely comes with its challenges but it’s also incredibly rewarding. There’s something pretty special about building a career around something you genuinely love and are passionate about. Cheers to ten more years! by @markyeattes

My neighbor Tak is still swimming laps a month shy of his 90th birthday! His consistency and routine are truly inspiring. His goal is 7 laps a day in the summer. He says he likes to stay active to keep his type 2 diabetes in check. When I asked Tak if he ever jumps in the pool he said ā€œNoā€ that it was a superstition of his. Bring in the dancing lobstahs!!! šŸ¦žšŸ¦žšŸ¦ž

Finally got to say a vocal stim in a literal sense. As a 90’s kid it was a throwback to the Judge Trudy sketch on the Amanda Show. That Nickelodeon nostalgia hits different!

Well damn! Thanks to everyone for coming out and making the second annual Mark’s Kitchen a success. This year we teamed up with Jamésa from @jayneheir for a Maryland style crab boil on the Chesapeake Bay. A time was had! We had to do it the Maryland way with steamed crabs and orange crushes of course!
