My everyday hair routine that keeps this blonde bob looking soft, textured, and lived-in ✨
I start with Aluram leave-in conditioner, then go in with the Aluram heat defense mist and Aluram coconut water texture spray. The Spitzy misting bottle has been a game changer — it actually reaches the back of my head so everything gets even coverage instead of just the front.
My hairdryer is old as the hills, but it’s a BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium and still does the job. For curls I switch between my 1¼-inch Bio Ionic barrel and the 1-inch BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium depending on the vibe I want that day. Together they give me the perfect soft, piecey waves.
Finish with IGK Beach Club Touchable Texture Spray for that effortless beachy separation and Sexy Hair Big Spray & Play because it holds without making my hair crunchy or sticky. Never fails.
What’s your current holy-grail hair product or tool?

Barbecue Chuck Roast Sandwiches
From the McGuffey kitchen to yours ❤️
Let’s make a chuck roast in the crock pot… barbecue style. Kid-approved, arm-running-sauce approved, two thumbs up approved.
Here’s exactly how I did it:
Ingredients
• 3½ lb chuck roast
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• 1–2 Tbsp chili powder (dark chili powder works great)
• 1–2 Tbsp smoked paprika
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp onion powder
• Salt & pepper, to taste
• 1 sweet onion, sliced into half moons
• 1 jar of your favorite barbecue sauce
• ¼ cup beef broth
• 1–2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
• 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
• 1–2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
• Toasted brioche buns
• Mayo
• Mai Mai’s famous coleslaw
• Fresh crispy pickles
• Creamy potato side (I’ll link the recipe)
Directions
1. Rinse and pat the chuck roast dry. Mix the brown sugar, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub it all over the roast.
2. Sear the roast on medium heat until nicely browned on both sides. Don’t let the brown sugar burn.
3. While it sears, slice one sweet onion into half moons and layer them in the bottom of your crock pot.
4. Mix your barbecue sauce with the beef broth, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and Worcestershire.
5. Place the seared roast on top of the onions and pour half of the sauce mixture over it. It will look a little dry—that’s exactly what you want.
6. Cover and cook on high for 4–5 hours or low for 8–10 hours. Do not open the lid.
7. Once the meat is done, remove it and shred. Pour the crock pot juices into a skillet or pot, add the remaining half of the barbecue sauce, and simmer to reduce. Stir in a cornstarch slurry to thicken if needed.
8. Return the shredded beef and sauce to the crock pot, cover, and let it come back up to temperature for about 15 minutes.
9. Pile it on a toasted brioche bun with a little mayo. Serve with Mai Mai’s famous coleslaw, crispy pickles, and that creamy potato side on the plate.
When the sauce runs down your arm… that’s how you know it’s right.
Love you guys. From the McGuffey kitchen to yours. by @marlamcguffey

Unboxing the mystery packages I ordered and immediately forgot about. 😂
Vampire bite stickers (because I love a little blood and gore at Halloween), a striped bodysuit I already know I’ll live in, a brown silk cami, sheer tights that scream “French girl,” some cute heels and bow flats, a butter hair clip (because butter is everything), and a sweet little swan for the mantel. Never know what you’re gonna get with me.
Which one would you claim first?

Good morning, honey! ☀️
Yesterday I was in a nearly $300 pair of jeans… today I’m proving you don’t have to spend that to look cute. These wide-leg jeans are from Shein and under $20. The belt is one of my favorites (I’ll find the exact one and link it). The white tee is from a local boutique I love — it’s just a simple French-brand shirt with a really cool sleeve detail.
I’m all about the accessories today: big chunky coral earrings (a gift from a dear friend — I’ll find something similar), Buddha bangles, and a few Amazon finds mixed in. The rest of the sparkle… you’ll need your own somebody for those. 😉
And the shoes? Just opened a big Shein order and these bow slingbacks are precious — around $12.
Somebody is feeling cute today. Comment SHOP and I’ll send you all the links. Love you guys! 💕

Good morning, honey bunch.
These jeans walked in and declared themselves the main character—true high-waist trouser jeans from Reiss (that European brand that clearly knows what a woman needs). High waist, sharp buttons, the kind of fit that makes you stand a little taller and smile a little wider. And y’all… they’re on major sale right now. I tagged as many of them as I could, plus a couple of close look-alikes on both the jeans and the silk tank.
They run generous, so size down—I’m 5’7” in a kitten heel and definitely needed a 26. I also ordered the long length because I’m always in a heel.
The little pink camisole is doing its best to keep up (if I can track it down, I’ll link it… no promises, y’all know how that goes). And then my beautiful girl popped in mid-sentence in her cheer hoodie, because some things are better with company.
Today’s all about the jeans. The rest is just bonus.
Have a lovely day, loves. 💛
(Links in my LTK—jeans on major sale, camisole is a maybe.)

Well hey there, honey bunch. 🤍
Listen — I know this dress is adorable, but today we’re all about the shoes.
Do y’all see this? A loafer-style heel with the prettiest gold detail, made by the wonderful Ralph Lauren. Classic, polished, and so easy to wear. Gorgeous.
(I’ve got the tag on the dress too — I’ll drop that link if I can track it down.)
And look at this cute little crane necklace I got. Love it. Can’t link the dress honey bunch - but if you want it - it’s available online @garlandbags.com it’s the Jane dress magnolia print!!
Come and shop — I’ll send you all the links. 🛍️
Bye, love you, honey bunch.

Walmart’s own models almost talked me out of this entire order.
The photos looked like the sweaters had given up. Flat, stiff, zero personality. I only clicked buy because other influencers had already done the homework and sworn the pieces were better in real life. So I ordered the whole haul online and waited to see who was right.
They were right. Cashmere for days: a cableknit, a blue-and-white stripe, a camel, and a wood-duck sweater that is somehow both cute and completely wearable. All under $30. Then this navy silky textured bomber that feels way more expensive than it is, under $50. And a gray-and-white striped cardigan so soft it should come with a warning for fall weather.
I was genuinely blown away. The site photos did these zero favors. Comment SHOP and I’ll send you every link.

Downtown Monroe just got a new favorite stop, and these five came prepared.
Caroline & Co. is officially on the girls’ rotation. I took them in to show them how it’s done: walk in, find something you love, and leave with a bag! They took notes. Very well.
Shop local. Support your friends. And honestly, look at these cuties. Bags full, sidewalk pose locked in, zero chill.
If you’re downtown, go see them. The girls already approved. @carolineandcomonroe @violet_mai_mai

Honey bunch, can y’all sneak these? Walmart camo, and I mean it.
These wide-leg cargos are soft, have real pockets, and an elastic back so they still move. I’m 5’7” in a medium and they’re a little snug. Size up. If you’re usually a small or extra small, grab a small, and so on.
Tee is Anthropologie, bra is Lululemon, and the little kitten heel is Franco Sarto. Same shoe from earlier this week. Perfect height. A little sass, a lot of class.
Come shop. Links are up, loves.

Marla’s famous creamy chicken noodle soup. The kind that starts with a good sear and ends with somebody asking for the pot.
Five or more bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs. Season with a teaspoon each of salt, pepper, garlic, and onion. Two tablespoons of your favorite oil in the pot. I used olive oil. Don’t touch them for 2 to 3 minutes. Let them get a real char. That brown is the whole personality of the soup. Flip and sear the other side the same way, then set the chicken on a baking dish.
Same pot. One small sweet onion, 2 to 3 stalks of celery, and 3 to 5 carrots. A little more olive oil if the pot looks dry. Cook until tender. Then 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Let it melt. Two tablespoons of all-purpose flour. Stir and cook that roux 2 to 3 minutes until the raw flour taste is gone.
Quarter cup of white wine to glaze the pan. Then your liquid. Chicken stock, bone broth, or what I did: 8 cups of water and 8 teaspoons of Better Than Bouillon chicken. Bring it back to a simmer, add the chicken, and cook until it hits 165°.
In goes 2½ cups of heavy cream, 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning, and 2 bay leaves. Let it go at least 40 minutes, up to close to 2 hours, until that chicken is done being shy.
Pull the chicken. Bones and skin off. Chop it in the food processor and send it back to the pot.
Pasta of your choice. You’ll see which one I like in the video. Box said 10 minutes. I did 9. Drain it, stir it in, and let everything come back together 3 to 5 minutes.
Kid note, because I was feeding little ones with this batch. Before the chicken goes back in, hit the carrots, celery, and onion with an immersion blender. They will never know what hit them. They just know it’s good.
Serve it with whatever you like. Bread. Crackers. A spoon and no questions.
There it is. Marla’s famous creamy chicken noodle soup.
Love you, honey bunch. Ps let me know if you make it!!! by @marlamcguffey

Fall is coming whether we’re ready or not.
This gingham top is from Anthropologie, and the back is the reason I bought it. That gathered yoke. Dear John jeans, a little kitten heel, and we’re officially in transition season.
