Co-hosting legendary creatives, tastemakers, vendors and peers whom I admire so much within the greater world of design was a dream. 💫As cross-collaboration spawns more beautiful products and ideas, our 10 year anniversary of NBD @nantucketbydesign felt especially meaningful as we brought it all together on Nantucket for one incredible week. Our Etched in Time theme felt especially apropos as we held our first ever (and definitely not the last!) Legacy Circle Dinner celebrating the event and its impact on the global design industry and community. We honored the indelible Bunny Williams and reminisced (and laughed - I mean belly laugh @alexahamptoninc 🤣) with past chairs and panelists, and toasted to all that is to come. This year we expanded our experiences, opening up the afternoons for fun interactive activities broadening our sponsor engagements (from mosaic tile and jewelry making to the craft of sailors valentines and decorative painting). We added the first ever House Tour exploring beautiful homes and their designers located in the downtown historic district. Our panels touched on just about every topic from artistry to hospitality design to AI, fashion, textiles and what “luxyury” means in an ever changing world of trend driven “fast furniture.”💫It’s without saying (but I will anyway) that none of this was possible without my Co Chair @w_j_richards who has been extraordinary to work with. Together we shared a (big!) vision for where we believed the event could go (literally and figuratively) and how many people we could reach along the way. He has become a confidant, cheerleader, mentor and now a great friend. I know I speak for both of us that there is nothing more important than knowing all of this year round work and effort for NBD benefits an organizaton whose mission is to preserve the stories and history of the great island of Nantucket we love so much @nantuckethistoricalassociation . 🥂 to the amazing NHA team who held on tight and road with us as we traveled around the Country and put more bricks on this beautiful structure that is NBD! by @marlamullendesigns

An impactful conversation with @coreydamenjenkins at the BDC.**It was an honor to chat with Corey last week amongst a standing room only crowd; He had us note taking, considering color and the art of the remix, laughing and crying -sometimes laugh-crying! - as we explored how history shapes the future of interiors.*I truly admire Corey for all of his incredible work and the collaborations he has brought to life in the world of design - a fan girl if you will - with accolades that took up a full page✨ but I am mostly humbled by the person he is. He delivered honest interpretations on how to respect history and use it as a guide in both work and in life. A message we could all use right now. He is a trailblazer for many but felt like a friend to all of us listening that day. *Other key highlights:-Matching Corey’s fashionable pup🐾 💓-Run don’t walk to get the @kravet1918 chair I was sitting in - the most comfortable hour of my life!-Using the words “warm” and “Boston” in the same sentence (manifesting)*Thank you to @jackyeaton and the @bostondesigncenter for an amazing day!xMMD**📸 @michaelblanchard by @marlamullendesigns
