💜November is Prematurity Awareness Month💜

15 MILLION babies around the world are born preterm (which means before 37 weeks of gestation)... and this number is rising. Help us raise awareness this month by sharing this post.

Thankful for our micro-preemie and preemie babes 💜💚

These are not my words but most of this rings so true! Thought I’d share for everyone that can relate or those who like to self educate 💖💓💗💖

Everyone kept saying, “You’re almost done! You must be so excited!”
“You did it!”
“You’re a survivor now!”

But the truth?
I don’t feel like celebrating.

I thought finishing treatment would feel like crossing some kind of finish line, like I’d throw my fists in the air and feel triumph and relief. But instead… I just feel tired. Soul-tired. Body-tired. Tired in a way that sleep doesn’t fix.

I’m not sick anymore, technically. But I don’t feel well. My body is still a battlefield, scarred and sore and strange. My reflection doesn’t look like me. The person staring back in the mirror has different hair, different skin, a different weight, different eyes. My sparkle is dimmer. I feel like I’ve aged a decade in a year.

And everyone wants me to smile. To be grateful. To ring a stupid bell like it erases all the trauma, like it means this is over. But I didn’t want to ring it. I didn’t even want to look at it. Because the truth is, cancer doesn’t just end when the last treatment is done. The fear doesn’t leave. The fatigue doesn’t magically disappear. The grief—for who I was before this—lingers.

So here I am, done, but not done.
Alive, but still healing.
Not sick, but not okay.

And I guess I just need to say that out loud—for anyone else who thought they'd feel joy and instead feel lost. You’re not alone. We carry so much more than the world can see. And sometimes, survival doesn’t look like celebration. Sometimes, it just looks like breathing through another day.

And for now… that has to be enough. by @marlee_don

12 years ago today I stood in the living room of an elderly couple, surrounded by floor to ceiling orange curtains, and two of the sweetest little flower girls you ever saw.
On this day I vowed to love & be by the side of my best friend forever through sickness and health until death parts of us.

Life has given us so many surprises, ups and downs and blessings. I wouldn’t be able to, nor would I want to get through all the tough times without you at my side. Together our strength knows no limits.
The last 12 years have been so full of joy, laughter, love and chaos… I can’t wait to see what the next 12 and beyond hold for us.

I love you beyond measure!
Happy Anniversary blue eyes 🥰😘

Red Dress Day, held annually on May 5th, is a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S+). It's a day to remember and honor the lives of those who have been lost, raise awareness about the crisis of violence against Indigenous women, and call for action and justice. The red dress is a visual symbol, representing the pain and loss felt by loved ones and survivors, and the impact on Indigenous communities.

Red Dress Day began as the "REDress Project" by Métis artist Jaime Black in 2010. The project involved hanging red dresses in public spaces to represent the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. The red dress has since become a powerful symbol of remembrance and activism.

Today, Red Dress Day is observed through various activities, including wearing red, hanging red dresses, attending ceremonies and rallies, and engaging in conversations about the issue. It's a day to stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities, listen to their stories, and work towards creating a safer future for everyone.

The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Crisis Line is a national, toll-free, 24/7 crisis call line that provides support for anyone who requires emotional assistance related to the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people.
