There’s something special about a place that starts to feel like home! For me, that place is Southern Miss. I’m so grateful to call this place home, and I hope everyone finds a place here where they feel like they belong!

It truly is the people that make the place!

When I think about my time at USM, I think about the people that have made this campus feel like home! I’m so thankful for each and every person I have met on this campus. The people around you are what make a place feel like home. They’re the ones who make you feel like you truly belong! Whether it’s a friend, a professor, or a mentor, I’m so grateful for the community I’ve found at Southern Miss and for all of the people who have made the past three years so special!

There’s not just one place I’ve found belonging at Southern Miss. There are so many! Each one has shaped a different part of who I am 🤸🌈🦅

From Luckyday to Eagle Connection to NSSLHA, each of these places have given me people to love and lessons I will carry with me long after graduation! Southern Miss became home because of the organizations that poured into me and the people who made me feel like I belonged.

BELONG WITH BLUSH!!

No words could describe how excited I am to share this campaign with y’all! Over the next few days, I’m so excited to share a little bit about my Southern Miss story and introduce you to my platform “Belong with Blush!” For me, belonging is what makes a place feel like home. It’s being able to show up as yourself, finding the people who make you feel known, and finding your own special place in a community. This week, I want to show you what those three things have meant to me and what I hope they can mean for everyone who calls Southern Miss home! I’m so excited to take you along! #BelongwithBlush #marleighblush4hocoqueen #southernmisstothetop taken in The University of Southern Mississippi by @marleighblush

HEY USM!!!

My name is Marleigh Blush! I’ve had the absolute honor of calling Southern Miss home for the past three years, and this year, I’m so excited to have the opportunity to run for Homecoming Queen!! Three years ago, I came to Southern Miss hoping to find my place. I never could have imagined just how much this university, and especially the people here, would come to mean to me. Southern Miss has given me some of my favorite memories, the people who have shaped me, and so many opportunities to grow, serve, and become more of who I am. Most importantly, it has shown me what it feels like to truly belong. My campaign, Belong with Blush, is centered around something I believe makes Southern Miss so special: there is a place here for everyone. To me, belonging looks like three things: YOURSELF. Being comfortable being exactly who you are. YOUR PEOPLE. Finding the people who know you, love you, and make this place feel like home. YOUR PLACE. Discovering the spaces, passions, traditions, and communities that make Southern Miss yours. The next few days, I’ll be sharing a little more about each of these, along with the people and moments that have made Southern Miss home for me. I’m so grateful to get to share this experience with you, and I hope that along the way, you’ll be reminded of just how special it is to belong to something like Southern Miss!! 🌈🤸💛

THANK YOU JESUS FOR THIS WEEK!! 🌈💚🧸🤸

Feeling completely overwhelmed with gratitude & awe for how the Lord moved this week. It is no secret that recruitment week can be challenging, but the Lord was so kind and showed up in big ways. When I ran home four years ago, I could have never pictured the ways the Lord would use the women in Kappa Delta to love me, encourage me, and support me no matter what. There are no words for how uplifted I felt this week. The women of Beta Sigma are such a small, but mighty reflection of the Lord’s love for us and I am so beyond thankful for every one of them!

It is because of the Lord that we were able to bring home 32 OF THE MOST PERFECT GIRLS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! PC 26, you have no idea how loved you already are and how long we have been praying for you! Welcome to a sisterhood that loves you on your worst days, shows up in the hardest moments, and repeatedly points you back to the One who created it all! WELCOME HOME!! by @marleighblush
