GAIA//ROADKILL part one. this is the story of my life...
... cut short.
you and me, the same
are run by things we can't explain.
we share the terror that is life
we fear, we learn, we love, we strive.
yet you have left me here alone
rejected, yearning for a home.
you flee, you feed, you take, still hungry
you cannot feel it when it's sunny.
no innocence is left behind
in truth we always were one kind.
our language you've forgotten
all you want seems old and rotten.
desperation keeps you going
spilling my blood, you think you're growing.
the womb we long for is right here
the final safety feels so near.
and yet you look away and go
find your meaning, live a show.
your head is stuck fast in the clouds
not wanting to see me in shrouds.
because against your constant plea
you still remind yourself of me.
and what remains is lonely fear
in you and me, the same. by @marleneantoni.a
