Other than in his previous publications he teamed with several other writers and artists to compile the content of the 52-paged publication. It consists of pieces, freights, canvas close-ups, sketches, scribbles, abstract paintings, digital art, drawings, collages and outlines which often leave letter forms far behind but anyway create a coherent and harmonic composition on each spread. “Graffiti Maalen is a magazine project to focus on collaborative works inside the graffiti writing culture. The project’s main approach is to leave the classical paths and techniques of graffiti writing behind and investigate the relations between graffiti, writing and fine arts. The focus of the magazine is not on the representation of ego or one’s own work, but rather on the interplay between the various artists to create something new and unexpected. But when I think about it now, it could mean also something else: a sound built on slightly rebellious synths, where less is more and one detail can carry the whole track. Laidback, mysterious, diverse — not trying to impress anyone, just hoping for a few laughing faces, and maybe convincing someone to stay a little longer.“ „My favourite moment in the mix is track 5, Telemen’s ‚Angels of Mercy‘. While building this set, something happened for the first time — I held onto one track for so long, building everything around it, only to leave it out in the end. Dear Listeners, say hello to Lui: „This set was played as a long rave in Bremen slowly came to an end and the after-vibes began to unfold. For me, that’s a time when different portals seem to open... a moment to dig a little deeper. Sound-wise, I wanted to play with contradictions: airy butterfly tunes hugging a deep velvety weirdness. Welcoming both the calm and the chaotic.
