How did this start?

We simply hung out and said “hey what if we tried doing this?”

There was no fanfare, no craziness, we already had semi-established friendships… but the one decision to push deeper has absolutely transformed this community.

Now, once a week we get together and just do life. We eat, we laugh, we dive into the Bible, we talk about the fun and the hard… it’s a holy disruption and a beautiful moment of the sacred ordinary.

But it all started with a choice. I spent years feeling lonely and isolating myself, exactly what the Enemy wanted me to do.

one thing I’ve always loved is taking myself on a solo date. ☕️🤎

Coffee. A meal. Exploring a new place. A workout class. Even just finding a cozy corner to write.

There’s something sacred about having the peace and confidence to go do things alone.

Not because I need to do life alone. I’m a professional BFF, I LOVE my people. 😂

But because our hearts need quiet.

We need moments to retreat with Jesus…to reflect, pray, listen, and make space for the wisdom the Holy Spirit wants to teach us.

And we also need FUN! We were given a life to delight in, so why are we choosing to let it pass us by?

I’ve found that in those intentional moments, I’m often refilled so I can return to my people with more to pour out.

Sometimes that looks like quiet and stillness.

Sometimes it looks like being silly and trying something in the name of delight.

And sometimes it’s simply finding Jesus in the messy middle of an ordinary day.

and just like that, September is over! 🍂🤎

I LOVE getting to travel, write, and live in different places. It truly is such a gift.

And goodness, the Lord really loved on my heart this month.

One of the biggest things I’m carrying with me from September into October (and Q4 as a whole!) is this… when we slow down enough to listen to the Lord, we actually hear Him.

Crazy, right? 😂

And when we slow down enough to notice, we start seeing all the little gifts He’s been giving us along the way.

The joy we notice becomes an invitation to practice gratitude.

And THAT is a life I want to lead.

A life that listens.
A life that notices.
A life that is deeply rooted in the goodness of God- even in the ordinary.

So, welcome October. 🤎🍂

A writer must have her special drink ✨

I’m a tried and true latte girl but for some reason this last month has been the month of the flat white.

Strong espresso, less milk, so yum.

And honestly, I think there’s something really sweet about the little things that give us a reason to pause and be grateful.

Lately, I’ve been noticing the gift of slowing down… writing with my flat white lingering nearby, letting my thoughts spill onto the page, and having conversations that have poured out not only onto paper, but across the table with my parents.

Maybe that’s part of the beauty of ordinary life.

Little reminders that there is so much goodness to notice when we actually slow down enough to see it. 🤎

whether you realize it or not, your choices are slowly forming you into the person you’re becoming.

every yes.
every no.
every habit.
every little decision that feels insignificant in the moment.

they’re all forming something in us.

And as a follower of Jesus, I want the life I’m building to reflect the Kingdom of God. I want my choices to be shaped by obedience to what the Holy Spirit is inviting me into, not just what feels easiest, most comfortable, or most convenient.

But that takes active participation + surrender.

It means paying attention.
It means choosing obedience when it costs us something.
It means letting Jesus form us instead of simply letting life happen to us.

And I’m SO thankful for the people God has placed in my life who help me do just that — my husband, my parents, my friends, my church community.

The people who lovingly challenge me, remind me of truth, and encourage me to keep walking in alignment with the Father.

We were never meant to do life alone. 🤎

it’s your professional bff checking in to wish you a VERY happy first day of fall!! 🍂🤎

cue the fall foliage confetti 🍁🍂✨

fall has always been one of my favorite seasons…pumpkin spice, crisp mornings, changing leaves, cozy sweaters, all of it. And honestly? I love it even more now that I live in New England.

But as we step into a new season, I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to turn every seasonal transition into a personal improvement project.

new season → new goals → new routines → new version of me.

but what if this fall, instead of asking:

“What new goals can I set?”

we asked:

“Where is the Lord asking me to be obedient?”

1 Thessalonians 4 talks about living a life that is pleasing to God. We are called to live a life that is set apart, intentional, and actually in step with Him.

And yet, how often do we just let life happen to us?

life is life-ing, right?? 😂

Maybe this season isn’t about adding more to your plate. Maybe it’s about paying attention.

Paying attention to what the Holy Spirit is nudging you toward.

Paying attention to what God is asking you to lay down.

Paying attention to where your words, your choices, your relationships, and your everyday rhythms can help you fall into stronger alignment with Jesus.

May your ears be open to the voice of the Spirit.
May your steps be in step with the Father.
May your words declare the goodness of Christ.
And may you do it all with joy.

Because there is so much joy in this sweet, ordinary life we’ve been given. 🤎

I used to hate mornings… alarm clocks, getting out of bed, trying to convince myself to do anything before 8am… not for me.

However, there are so many verses in the Bible that mention the power of the early hours of the day. Jesus withdrew to commune with the Father (Mark 1:35). We know joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5)

So if the morning is mentioned so much in the Word… what do we need to notice?!

When I started to really take stock in my morning time, my life changed for the better. I was more alert, more consistent, and closer to the Lord in a way that hadn’t happened before. Sure, I have my days where I hit snooze or roll over, but even a five minute rhythm can shift your perspective.

(and the biggest way to elevate your mornings is actually in the evenings but you’ll have to come back for more on that 😉)

I used to think that in order to live a faithful life I had to be uber successful.

Climb the success ladder.
Make a ton of money.
Have the most influence.

And while sure it may be nice to make good money and grow in leadership, it will always disappoint if you aren’t choosing to be faithful and joyful in the Lord.

Money isn’t your strength.
Status isn’t your strength.
Influence isn’t your strength.

The joy of the Lord is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

It’s a daily perspective shift but it’s one that will change your life.

In joy, you will find delight. It’s a gift that is wrapped in the delight of eternity with Jesus.

Sooooo who’s ready to make that shift!?

Have you ever thought about what needs to change in order to live a joy filled life?

Is it your schedule? Your heart posture? Your priorities?

Joy isn’t fleeting- it’s a characteristic that is born out of the faithfulness of living a life with Jesus, for Jesus.

And that’s what being a follower of Jesus is all about!! don’t let this fall pass you by when you can choose to live joyfully.

Some of the most impactful and honest conversations happen around the table… whether that’s at a coffee shop, restaurant, home, ect. There is such a gift about gathering and doing life together.

Being faithful stewards of the Gospel isn’t confined to “ministry” spaces. It happens at girls night, vacations, that random dinner… the everyday ordinary moments. It’s sacred, real, and raw.
