Okay, fellow ACOTAR readers… please help me understand. 🤣📚

I finally read A Court of Thorns and Roses and, despite having about a million questions, I completely understand why people are obsessed with the series. The story is fantastic. I read it in TWO DAYS! I loved the world building and all the little details, even when some of them were… disturbing. 😳

Incoming Spoilers...

Can we talk about Tamlin? Are we really supposed to like him for Feyre? 👀 Because I have concerns.

He manipulated her from the beginning. He lied to her. He used her without telling the truth. He basically left her to fend for herself during the final battles… and when Feyre does find out the truth, she’s basically like ‘Well, I still love him.’

GIRL. 🤣 Everything you know about this man is a lie! He was literally watching you die.

Meanwhile, Lucien is RIGHT THERE! 👀

Let me tell you how relieved I was when they pulled the cape off the third innocent Faerie and it was Tamlin and NOT Lucien. 😬 I would have even been perfectly happy if Feyre had developed googly eyes for Rhys.

And I will NEVER recover from ‘She took my wings, she took my wings,’ from the Summer Court Faerie 😭💔 That scene is going to haunt me forever. *

ACOTAR readers: PLEASE don’t come for me. 😆 I’m only on book one and going in completely blind. I welcome a few spoilers. Help me understand… am I supposed to be rooting for Tamlin right now? by @maroonhour

September reads! 📚

Seven books, including three ARCs, and apparently I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer. Living in the PNW means I have plenty of opportunities to hike, drink brews, and stand in the rain. I took advantage of the sunny days and even visited family in Phoenix. I'm dreaming of going back. ☀️

Summer, I'll miss you, But, Fall... here I come! 🍁

Five stars. Easily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@kristinhannahauthor did it again. I cried my way through 'The Nightingale' and apparently still haven't learned my lesson about choosing emotionally devastating books. 😭

This story of two sisters finding their own ways to survive and resist during WWII was heartbreaking, beautiful, and completely unforgettable. Hannah has a way of making historical fiction feel incredibly personal, and the amount of research behind her stories always shines through.

I can't say enough good things about this book. ❤️

And now I'm even more excited because 'The Nightingale' is finally coming to the big screen in 2027, with Dakota and Elle Fanning starring as the sisters. 🎬

What book emotionally destroyed you… but you’ll still recommend it every single time? 😭📚

'Phoebe Berman's Gonna Lose It' by @brookeaverick was just ADORABLE. 🥹💕

Phoebe is an almost 30-year-old virgin, a teacher, a hopeless romantic, and someone whose anxiety makes dating…well, complicated. 😂 So naturally, she makes a 30-day checklist to finally lose her virginity. What could possibly go wrong?

As someone with social anxiety, there were SO many moments that felt painfully relatable. Brooke Averick took something that can be frustrating and turned it into such a funny and completely engaging story.

If you're looking for a cute rom-com with an anxious, imperfect heroine, add this one to your TBR! 📚

I'm so excited to be a part of the ARC team for Seven Men for Seven Friends by @emanriquez.author . It's a holiday rom-com novella; which is right up my alley! I can't wait to jump in! Is it too soon to put up twinkle lights and drink hot cocoa? ✨

August reads! 📚

8 books, 4 that I absolutely loved, and no chance of picking a favorite.😆 I had some really good ones this month!

And since I never shared it here… August also included a night at Wrigley Field! ⚾️ It was a pretty great backdrop for a summer evening. 💙

Now onto September! 📖✨

What are you looking forward to reading next?

Delayed flight? Mimosa? Honestly, this morning is going exactly as expected. 😂🥂✈️📚

After finishing a historical fiction, I needed something a little more unhinged. So naturally, I brought @daniellevalentinebooks highly recommended 'The Dead Husband Cookbook' with me. Hopefully nobody looks too closely at my table. 😆

What are you currently reading?

Weekend book haul! 📚

This photo basically sums up my reading taste: thriller/mystery, romance, and a little fantasy thrown in for good measure. 😂

I've already read The Unknown and it was fantastic; as expected!

I'm halfway through Phoebe's story and I'm obsessed. Phoebe is SO relatable.

And then there's A Court of Thorns and Roses... send help. 😂 I literally had to Google fantasy lingo to make sure I could follow along. Is this book/series going to destroy me? Spoilers welcome. 👀📚 by @maroonhour

'Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt' by Ben Reeves is a literary and unconventional story centered around death, grief, and the people we leave behind.

Travis is Death himself, moving through the lives of people in their final moments. Rather than following a traditional plot, the story unfolds through fragmented encounters, observations, and glimpses into the lives of the people Travis meets along the way.

This is definitely a book for readers who enjoy experimental or highly poetic writing, fragmented storytelling, and stories that explore uncomfortable questions about death, mortality, and what it means to be human.

It was definitely a departure from my usual reading, and I'm always interested in picking up something outside my comfort zone and seeing where it takes me. 📚

If you enjoy literary fiction that is unconventional, thought-provoking, and willing to experiment with structure and prose, this might be one to add to your TBR.

Have you read a book lately that took you completely outside your usual reading comfort zone? by @maroonhour

Did I pack two books for my week long trip in Chicago? Yes. 📚
Did I also go to a bookstore and buy another while I was here? Also yes. 😬

You can never have too many books... But I might need to buy more luggage to get home. ✈️

One of my favorite parts of work travel? Exploring a new city!

Tonight's agenda before diving into endless meetings and spreadsheets tomorrow: Chicago deep dish at @giordanospizza , an @angryorchard cider, and a new book from the @friendsglenviewlibrary bookstore. 📚🍺

Table for one? Absolutely. More pizza for me. 🍕

Christmas in July officially became @meghanquinnbooks in July. 🫶🎄📚

This was my first month reading her books, and they completely took over my reading stack. I loved every second and can't wait to work through her massive backlist.

To keep my Goodreads reading challenges on track, I also managed to sneak in a few non-holiday reads, mixing romance with thrillers, historical fiction, and mystery.

It was such a fun month of reading! Trading holiday lights for late-summer stories will be a little sad, but I’m ready for the next stack.
