How Prom season use to kick my ass and then i prayed prayed and prayed and now this how it’s going 🙏🏽

A little testimony about where I started, what I’ve been through, and where I am today. 🙏🏽

I’ve been through a lot. I’ve struggled. I’ve doubted myself, and I’ve beaten myself up more times than I can count. But one thing about me—I KEPT GOING.

I kept striving. I worked through the bullshit. I worked through people talking about me, doubting me, trying to tear me down, and trying to make me feel like I wasn’t enough. Through every setback, every disappointment, and every difficult season, I kept pushing.

And most importantly, I prayed. I prayed. I prayed. And I PRAYED. 🙏🏽

There were times I couldn’t see how things were going to work out, but God already knew the outcome.

And now… LOOK AT ME. 🥹🙌🏽 Look at what came from everything I survived. Look at what happens when you refuse to give up on yourself and keep your faith.

I’m still growing. I’m still becoming. But today, I can look back at where I started and truly appreciate how far I’ve come.

Ooooh, look at the outcome! 🙌🏽

At just 15 years old, I made my very first prom dress for my brother Tyreek’s prom date, Shakenia.

This was me at her aunt’s house, making last-minute adjustments to her dress on a sewing machine I found at the thrift store and bought with my allowance. 🧵✂️

I didn’t have a big studio. I didn’t have expensive equipment. I just had a sewing machine, creativity, and a passion for fashion.

What started as a small passion at 15 grew into Marquette Collection and a business bigger than I could have imagined.

Just a young boul from North Philly, straight out of Strawberry Mansion High School, with a dream and a sewing machine. ❤️

Never forget where you started.

From that thrift-store sewing machine to Marquette Collection.

Long story short… this is my cousin Brittany. 🤍 @missbrimichelle

I met her about five years ago, and this past weekend I had the honor of watching her marry the love of her life, Derek. @author_derek_white

From the moment I met Brittany, I was so excited to find out I had another cousin. I remember running over to her and talking her head off. 😂 She fit right in from day one and truly felt like the missing piece to the Palmers.

Brittany is one of the sweetest, most well-mannered people you’ll ever meet—but don’t get it twisted… she’s definitely with the shits too. 🤣 That’s one of the many reasons we all love her.

Being a part of one of the biggest days of your life meant more than you know. Watching you marry your best friend was beautiful, and I couldn’t be happier for you both.
