Looking back at the images from our showcase, we're incredibly proud of the five producers who have successfully completed our 18-month Producers' Fellowship. Over the course of the programme, they developed and produced five new films that are now ready to be showcased at local and international film festivals.

A huge thank you to our financial partners and the industry professionals who joined us despite the extreme temperatures. Your support and presence made the celebration even more meaningful.

A special thank you as well to NOVA Lab for the beautiful rebranding that helped bring a fresh new look to our programme.

A little look back at the pre-production of KAKEK. 🎬

From camera tests with fake mud, scouting Grandpa’s house, and finding the right spot in the woods, to combining two Indonesian masks into one unique piece for the film. 👹 Every detail, no matter how small, brought us one step closer to bringing this story to life.

For a long time, this account has mostly been my personal archive. A place for moments, memories, and everything in between.

The truth is, I’ve never been good at sharing my work. I prefer being behind the scenes. Building things quietly, making them happen, and then moving on to the next.

But KAKEK, my first short film as producer, is ready to meet the world. And the stories I care about deserve to be seen. So it’s time for me to step out of the shadows too.

In short: I’ll be posting a lot more about work from now on, so feel free to hold me accountable through this post 🙃

Exciting news… 💫Our new short fiction film KAKEK is officially happening! With the support of the @newproducersacademy, @fondszoz , @vfonds and @afk020 our funding is complete, and we start shooting next week!

👹KAKEK is a dark, magical-realist short film with elements of horror, exploring a buried colonial trauma. The lead roles will be played by @armandrosbak and @anisdejong.

🎞️When Ferdi (28) is haunted by terrifying visions, he visits his Indonesian grandfather Lex (83) in search of answers—uncovering a long-suppressed trauma from the colonial past that comes back to life.

2 years ago I made the decision to branch out from creative concepting to film production. Why? Because I want to make a difference in the representation of the media/films and give young talent in the industry a platform.

A great example to stories I would love to bring to life is this production with @freshmenmedia that was made to celebrate 10 years of women’s football at @afcajax in 2022. Which, hopefully, showed young girls that they do belong on the field!
