Ariel, we are so proud of you!!!! When my dearest, longest best friend was 34, she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer just 3 weeks before her wedding… which she has released and is now living with “no evidence of disease.” And today she crossed the finish line of a triathlon!!!!! A super amazing, incredible triathlon “Tri-Ing for a Cure” with Team Phoenix.

She trained for the past 14 weeks with the group (Team Phoenix) which is an incredible Aurora Health Care program that helps women cancer survivors train together to become triathletes. Seeing these women complete each phase and then cross the finish line I’d say was one of the most powerful and emotional things I’ve witnessed. TP’s tagline is “survivorship redefined” which is so fitting because all that time dedicated to training and the event today was for so much more than a race!!! A favorite message/reminder: “You didn’t come this far to only come this far.”

I love you so, so much Ariel, and I hope you always remember just how strong, capable, and absolutely motherf*ing badass you are.✨🐦‍🔥🔥

I’m late to the 2016 trend, but I’m kinda late to everything so whatever. 2016 was so much FUN. We were newlyweds and we started traveling all over (earning ourselves the Southwest companion travel pass for 2017, Lord…), selfie stick included (is that when they first got popular?) and silly SnapChat filters.

Starting in January with Puerto Rico for an incredible trip we had got at a gala auction, then the next month we stayed at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for Valentine’s Day weekend. The following month in March, we went to Alaska to visit my younger sister in Sitka during her JVC year.

From there, we had a few trips to California to see friends and then family, Colorado for my cousin’s wedding, Seattle, Washington D.C. (a month before the 2016 presidential election, no less), and a week after that the Dominican Republic for another vacation with friends.

Other fun memories include meeting Rita Moreno at the HPGM Five Star Gala, countless weekends when we and our friends still went dancing/clubbing like all the time lol, buying our kayaks and taking them out on my parents’ lake as often as we could, my black buttery soft LulaRoe leggings, choker necklaces and cut-crease eye makeup, going to Universal Studios and the Griffith Observatory in L.A. for the first time, César and I driving around to Fetty Wap on repeat, tons of birthdays/weddings/celebrations, and time spent with family and friends all over.

I can’t believe how fast it feels that time has passed! We’ve experienced so much life in these years, the highs and lows together, and I can’t wait for all the adventures still to come with my life partner. ♥️
Thankful to God & Source Creator Universe for you, you are such a blessing in my life and I love you so much. My soulmate! 🦋

Storm the Bastille 5K Run! Vive la France! 🇫🇷 This brought back memories from my last time running in Storm the Bastille with my family and it was my dad’s last summer, and we also got Cedar Crest ice cream right after.
