We had 2 hours to get all the car shots in #GrandCentral. The editor, #justinsirizzotti, had 24 hours to cut the entire 30 second spot. Kyle Davis, the line producer, had the day so dialed in though that everything went off without a hitch.
This was a #HarborPictureCompany in conjunction with #PublicisProductions project Very grateful for the opportunity.

Sorry, last batch from FEDS S2, and the only thing I have to say here is that in doc, we are so often having to shoot things in generic places: bland offices, white walled conference rooms, small spaces, etc, that for us DPs (and directors!) the key to the puzzle is figuring out how to squeeze some sauce out of it. Which can be tricky! We usually start by subtracting the room lights and seeing what natural cuts the windows provide. From there you choose what needs to go back in. by @marshallrose

#JordanCronenweth = TrueLove
Gotta give it up to the late, great, uber-maestro, Jordan Cronenweth. The first time I ever remembered a name after the credit “Director of Photography” was this cat and it was after watching #Bladerunner as an 8 year old in a spooky artist’s apartment that was full of mannequin parts and echoing audio equipment. I think of Cronenweth as one the funnest and slickest DP out there. His #chiaroscuro is the sexiest; his hard light the hardest, his soft light the softest, his #silhouettes the most graphic and no one makes a blue smokey beam like that guy…Just stumbled across some of his early-ish work in #RollingThunder, (a fairly traumatizing movie!) where you can see the building blocks he would later come to master. 7 years later he would shoot Stop Making Sense for the Talkinghead by @marshallrose

I mean LED walls and shooting cars go hand in hand. This time was with @trilogystudios_tx in Dallas. Shout out to @hunterthebartley, the wall tech guru, not only for going above and beyond to make sure all of the project’s needs were met but for exuding competence and pleasant vibes the whole way through. Also @alexpearce3d @sim_plates who painstakingly moved the sun around for me and adjusted fake lights, fake cars and fake trees over 6 sessions to help build a perfectly unquestionable and agreeable environment for our car to whizz through. by @marshallrose
