In honour of Steve Biko true revolutionary of apartheid and the first African born leader I bought a book about. The 24th of October 2024. Ten years, a whole decade since Martin passed. Everytime I think back, I remember feeling I would never laugh at our memories again, but healing and love has brought me so much, and I am grateful to you Martin.
Alot of people may not know Martin loved poetry, and so did our mum who passed 2 weeks before his 2nd birthday. The poem is called 'The Things we think but do not say' reflecting on his football career to age 17, and I love the line 'I find the will, the will to win'. Sums him up beautifully.
The last poem was one our mum had written before she died. I read it aloud at his funeral, and at that time my soul and spirit felt crushed. Now I feel it was as if she wrote it for me to read and eventually take love from.
Of course, I have cried today, I still miss him, but I smile too because I still love him and always will 🙏🏽❤️ for anyone struggling with mental health and loved ones affected, I send all my love. by @marshaonelove

When we roll we dont roll alone!!! Massive love and respect for parents and young people who came out in love and solidarity after #raceriots in #hartlepool and #middlesbrough . For some of the youth that was the first time they confronted the reality of #racism in their home towns and it has had impact. Yesterday was a form of #healing expressing our culture and loving our melanin. 14 year old Daniel Anjorin #danielanjorin was stabbed to death with a sword, by white adult male Marcus Monzo, as he walked to school. Ask yourself this: Would the papers ever refer to a white child who had been st@bbed to de@th by a Black male, as 'sword kid'?
Would they try to create empathy for the killer?

Never. The media, and politicians would afford that child and their family humanity, showing respect for their memory, but they don't do that for Black children or their families, they treat our trauma and pain as an outcome of being Black, normalising it and dehumanising us.

I am never shocked by the depravity of racism, but i am still, always hurt by it - a painful truth for many of us.

A massive #thankyou to everyone who came and donated to our fundraiser for #sudan #sudanuprising led by Sudanese revolutionary Waad Ebrahim who is sending the money to people directly affected.
Waad explained abour the #war in sudan - the fughting forces #rsf #saf and the affect on millions of innocent people pulled into a battle for power and resources. The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russua, The EU, Egypt are complicit, all want access to Sudan's resources especially gold and the people suffer. #ethniccleansing in #darfur, no education, only 1 hospital is operational in the country and women and girls being forced into marriage, kidnapped and raped.
I have met many people from Sudan through this work thank you for educating me #therevolution #freedomforsudan #keepeyesonsudan #talkaboutsudan by @marshaonelove
