So lucky to have this beautiful beach only 45 minute drive away from home. Every time we go the beach we are like “we don’t need to go abroad to have a beach holiday”. We literally live in a country which is many people’s dream destination… sometimes we have to remind that to ourselves. 💙

@brothernewzealand is looking for content creators. I have applied. I was contemplating whether to tag them in this video but surely if I’m chosen I wouldn’t put loud, unexpected noises in those videos?

Haha everyone knows they have the best affordable and user friendly beginner sewing machines. I have had mine for 4 years and it’s a very special one as it helped me make my wedding dress and now it is helping me make cute trousers for my toddler 💙

It was a bit of a chaotic first run postpartum, but I’ve been feeling like we need to add something new to our “low-effort things to do” list. It was chaotic mostly because I didn’t plan for it; I had to find and dust off my ancient running gear and just get on with it. My expectations were low, especially since the last time I ran was two to three years ago.

We did about a 20-minute run on our local cycle path along the mountain. The worst part was getting a stitch pretty much straight away, and towards the end, my left hip flexor started to hurt. I’ve had problems with my hip flexors in the past, so it makes sense—especially because I didn’t get to do a proper warm-up. Somebody was wanting cuddles, and I’m not going to say no to that!

Thankfully, as soon as he was in his stroller, he was fine. We recently switched from two naps a day to one, so he was starting to fall asleep as we were heading home, but I managed to keep him awake for a bit longer.

3 hour hike to Whakapipi lookout. 3.2km with 275m elevation gain.

Prioritising my baby’s naps are important to me so we squeeze these adventures between his two naps. He did fall asleep for the last 10-20 minutes (it’s the sweetest thing ever) and apparently that was enough for the day.

We are so excited for this spring, to do lots of adventures with the little man.

✨ Postcards from day 2 of our staycation ✨ Time at the beach. A 1.5 hour hike with the most incredible views of the ocean and the cliffs. I finished knitting the balaclava and having meals with the best view (long sleeved bib from @clever_wee_fox kindly gifted).
