marta “writerproducerdirectoractor” myers returns to sister wivez at ucb as fan favorite, muffin!

“i‘m a big believer that the larger purpose of life is community, something definitely ingrained in me by my mormon upbringing, and something i hope to have represented well in this script.
i am grateful to the creatives and viewers alike who took a risk on an unconventional idea and brought it to fruition (jordan knapp cancelled her all expense paid trip to mexico to be in this play). more than anything, i’m happy to encourage audiences to think deeply and laugh hard and feel like they’re a part of something big.
this has been a perfect creative experience and i hope to have a million more like this in my lifetime.”

she will make you question your sexuality on october 13th at 7pm at @ucbtla !!!!!

following a completely sold out world premiere run + encore performance at the hollywood fringe festival, the “damn near perfect” fringe darling, “sister wivez” is back at ucb for a one night only performance!

winner of the oliver kelly award, semi-finalist for the loud karma emerging women and gender-diverse playwrights award, and nominee for the planners pick award, “sister wivez” has made a lasting impact on many, including the playwright’s actively mormon sister-in-law who said she “didn’t like it, but laughed a lot.”

“sister wivez” is a bizarre farce highlighting the events leading up to the anniversary dinner of five sister wives and their communal husband in real(-ish) time. this fifty-minute nightmare play explores the modern “village,” a woman’s purpose, and whether or not god is actually chill with lesbians.

featuring some of the most off-putting, up-and-coming comedic voices los angeles, “sister wivez” boasts a cast of heavy hitters including abby schell, jacob schran, jim belden (also producer and co-director), jordan katcher, jordan knapp, josiah conway, justin page, lindsay lewis, marta myers (also writer, producer, and co-director), and mercedes ohlen (also producer).
