Happy summer solstice 🌞✨if you’d like to spend it listening to my Druidstep mix, comment 🌻 and I’ll dm you the link {update: now in my bio!}I first came across the hashtag on bandcamp and it really captured my imagination. the music itself is exactly what i am loving listening to at the moment: Druidstep blends the weight, use of space and mixing technique from dub and dubstep with psychedelic sound design often layering in samples from the natural world. The community making and playing this music are mostly based in Europe the sylvan themes of the genre are inspired by the free raves and forest based trance parties that have been an essential part of electronic music’s story in Spain and France. At the root of this genre, is a sentiment that I’ve been seeing a lot at this moment in time, where Rave culture is identified as a modern form of folk culture. The exciting sub-scenes in electronic music today are heading deeper underground , built by local communities who create and share their own music, lovingly organise secret or intimate gatherings, and preserve a deeply rooted shared tradition.... which is beautiful . and this genre embodies the sentiment, so please enjoy the creative imaginative sound of 𝔇𝔯𝔲𝔦𝔡𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔭 Labels you need to know about for further digging around this sound: @95opentabs @10.60hz @ethos_records Synecdoche Tapes MCR @organic.signs@thedruidsofdub by @martha_radio
