Photos from our group show ‘New Paintings’
Shown at @bolding__ in Alfie’s Antiques Market.

The show was about landscapes and portraits.

Jem and I started making this sculpture as an attempt to mock up a future landscape: of choices, fate and possibility.

Our forwards looking landscape instead became an aftermath. Recollecting a question, a conspiracy. What really happened to the beauty school drop out? Was Frenchy an alien? Was she visited? Who was that man? Did she leave in a grassy field at night? by @marthajlow

New Paintings

Opening Thursday 25th June 4-6pm

A Group Show

with Ella Soni @ellasoni_ , Oli Mardon @olmardon, Martha Lowres @marthajlow, Dawi Moxon @__dawi, Jem Verden @jem__log and Aysha Leach @ayshaleach

The Leaping Horse (John Constable, 1825) coming to the city in a large portfolio or rolled up tight.

Taking off my hat and putting it under the desk, getting back to work. “…the self may be able to choose what happens, it may simply permit it”. Playing the piano just like breathing, breathless with the potential for daydreaming.

For reference, choice and change are working really hard and thinking a lot.

“Whatever else happens to these characters, they have moved”. No reference to perspective.

Writing interspersed with an excerpt from the Introduction to Mansfield Park by Jane Austen, written by Tony Tanner
