Now the kids are back at school, it feels like a good time to look back at what a summer it’s been 🥹
So many events, pony club camps, long days and thousands of photos of you all doing what you love 🤍

This sat in my notes app for a few months. It’s grown as the years evolved & I felt brave enough to share it.

I’ve fallen off the band wagon with socials for the (imo) very forgiveable reason that I’ve been out doing the job for the very reason I have this page to promote🫠

I’m no @millygoldsmith though inspired by. I’ve always craved deep conversations & honesty.

I know for sure I won’t be alone in some of these feelings and hope that at least one tiny part resonates with you.

Goodbye our zophs. Our girl.
17 years with you, 14 year old me couldn’t believe how lucky she was.

I’ve been doing you a disservice (understatement) up until recently I’d said I’d never have another you, and that you shredded my confidence.
But I take it all back, you actually gave me it. Yes, I ate dirt more times than I’d like to admit. Destroyed fences and waited what felt like an eternity for the bell to go again, but I never would have attempted what we achieved without your gumption & your “athletic” jump as the lady we bought you from said.
I could never have another you because there is no other you.
I’m so grateful for the lows, because without them it wouldn’t be you, it wouldn’t be our history, I wouldn’t appreciate those high highs because my goodness there were some insane highs.
You were you were an overachiever in all aspects of your life, whether it was running away because you didn’t want be caught,
or because you didn’t want your fly mask on, to standing at the gate begging to come back in.
You were a complete princess.

I’ll miss these days competing Zoph, so happy to still see it a staple event in @radfordsequestrian ‘s calendar. Next one is this Sunday.

Nah things rarely went perfectly for me and Zoph but oh the feeling she gave me when she was going is one I’m not sure I’ll ever feel quite like it again.

It’s so amazing to see the growth and adaptation of Radfords, new show jumps, New Cross country fences & even another water complex. It sounds as if there is more to come in the future too.

It’s so lush to look back. Who’s coming to reach new goals & make new memories this Sunday coming?

A little irony for you 😂
I recently got asked over on my event page, @marthalilyevents, if I do photoshoots.
When I separated my portrait and event pages years ago, it was because event clients often didn’t realise I also offered shoots… and now somehow we’ve ended up back there again 🥹

So I thought maybe it was time to say this properly.
Portraits are where this all began for me, at 15 years old with a camera and a horse that meant everything to me. And honestly, that passion has only grown into one of the most meaningful parts of what I get to call my job.

Capturing likeminded humans and their horses. The quiet moments we usually only just get to feel. And turning them into something tangible… artwork to treasure forever.

So yes, I do photoshoots 🤍 But that doesn’t even begin to sum up the experience I strive to give.

This has never just been about pretty photos to me. It’s about preserving something that changes far too quickly.

Tuesday nights are special to me.
Not because we won every week, had clear rounds, or aced the jump-off turns.

If anything, most weeks were quite the opposite 😆 annihilating fences, waiting for Jonathan to rebuild, retrying, missing strides, putting pressure on myself to do the bigger class…
But that’s who I was as a teen. And honestly, still am now hahaha.
They weren’t perfect, far from it, but they were magic.

The golden evenings, dust clouds from the speedy ponies, wanting to be better whilst enjoying the journey, making friends, the random clear rounds in the indoor when no one was watching, buying photos onsite and… you guessed it, the cheesy chips 🌅🐴🍟

But honestly? Even the gloomy, blustery nights under the lights feel special looking back now. The soggy boots, cold hands, rushing in from work or school, everyone still turning up because they loved it.

I think those evenings mean even more to me now.
As horses get older, you realise it was never really about the perfect round anyway.

It was the ordinary Tuesdays that quietly became the memories you never want to lose 🥹

Life looks different for me now, but now I get to capture those memories for you.

It was SO amazing to see the first week back with record entries and even a wait list!!

Will I be seeing you this Tuesday? Or this summer?
