Oh Minnesota…what a gift to be with you and play for you this past week. This song is from our show in Minneapolis at @icehousempls , a stones throw from the Alex Pretti memorial, and seems to encompass the grief, hope, love, resilience and care for one another that seemed to flow through the music everywhere we went. It was truly profound. Thank you @erik_koskinen for inviting us, Barbara Jean and @northshoremusicassociation for the wonderful shows up north, @adelineincduluth , @icehousempls @cedarloungebeer and everyone making spaces for people to gather around live music. We are so thankful. Sending out the love💛

Posted @withregram • @jealousbutcher Available today on JBR - @marthajonmusic’s Save It For Later. Featuring a collection of 8 cover songs, ranging from classics by Guy Clark and Willie Nelson to unexpected gems from Beyoncé and Radiohead. The duo skillfully cuts across traditional genres to craft an expansive and immersive musical narrative. Their fourteen years of friendship, touring, and recording reverberate throughout the album, pulling these songs together into a deeper current that feels like a revelation—a homecoming. Scanlan and Neufeld inhabit these songs so fully that we forget that they were never theirs, or ours, to begin with.

Get your copy of @marthascanlan and @neufeldjon’s Save It For Later on limited-edition “Night Sky” blue vinyl (only 200 pressed) by heading to the link in our bio.

“From Beyoncé’s “XO” to The Grateful Dead’s “Bird Song” Neufeld as the producer (as well as guitarist) weaves together the spare acoustic instrumentation so well that it gives the album a lushness that is absent from other contemporary duos. In their capable hands the album feels like a hymnal that seamlessly melds together nature and the human spirit. You don’t simply hear these songs; they come into you, and as if by some effervescent alchemy you look at the world differently as a result.”

Its been challenging to find words for all of this; how does one articulate wonder? That’s what I was left with after seeing them live in Seattle with @neufeldjon this past week, the sense of generosity and friendship and fierce joy and creativity in the face of so much darkness in the world was beautiful and transcendent and deeply moving. To experience connection through a song with such amazing artists and such lovely people is so beautiful and I am so honored and grateful. Thankyou @suzi.dian and @robertplantofficial and Saving Grace. Our hearts are full. by @marthascanlan
