Big news. This July, @change.in.nature are welcoming folk singer, filmmaker, artist, writer and all-round creative force @marthatilston as our Artist in Residence for the Change Collective.Rick Ruben says that “as artists, we seek to restore our childlike perception: a more innocent state of wonder and appreciation not tethered to utility or survival.” So what’s the role of an artist in residence?To help bring a different perspective to our time together. Martha’s is coming to help us find the words that inspire our journey, or turn a feeling into an image or a song, or help us find that state of wonder and appreciation that can so often get lost. An artist in residence brings a different way of knowing into the room (or woods in this case!). Martha will weave a thread through our time together with music, poetry and drawing…. Inviting a state of wonder and open attention that makes space for insights to land that much deeper.Changemaking can very easily become dry and earnest. Creativity is often the thing that helps ideas take root and ripple outwards into the world.The Change Collective is a programme for experienced climate and environmental change makers @sheepdrove , Berkshire, asking “what now?”. Happy new year ...We are so excited to play a 'welcoming the light' concert at the wonderful Acorn theatre in Penzance, Cornwall. - on Imbolc * - Sunday 1st February. Feels like a good time to honour the light in a time of so much challenge in the world.I will be playing with my friends at this beautiful venue, come and join us as the cornish waves roar and the days get lighter.
