1 DROP 1000 YEARS A hypnotic performance inspired by the immense ocean current that connects the planet’s five oceans and regulates the Earth’s climate. Fifteen suspended kinetic sculptures transform water particles and live oceanic data into a choreography of sound, light and movement—revealing the fragile balance that connects planetary currents to those within us. ASTRONOMICAL WATER A screenless installation where water, light and sound reshape our perception of gravity. One hundred drippers create shifting panoramas: droplets fall, freeze and appear to levitate through precisely orchestrated rhythms and stroboscopic light. Visitors move around and within the structure, immersed in a contemplative experience where time seems to expand. #MediaArt #DigitalArt #LightArt #SoundArt #InstallationArt ContemporaryArt by @martin___messier___

SEWING MACHINE ORCHESTRA by @martin___messier___ What do you hear when the noise of another era comes back to life? The Singer sewing machine was one of the defining machines of industrialization. It was the device that brought women into the factories. For a century and a half, it stood for an unresolved tension: emancipation through paid work, and at the same time the concentration of exploitation in the private sphere. Suddenly, women could earn money because they knew how to sew. At the same time, the sewing machine became the tool of poorly paid home work. That was the emancipation of the 19th century: freedom and exploitation in one and the same object. Hundreds of these machines stood in vast factory halls, operated by women. The noise was physical violence: hearing damage, headaches, shattered nerves. A class struggle measured in decibels. Martin Messier has freed these machines from their history and taken only what was once considered the problem: the noise. And he has created something almost impossible: the noise of old factory halls comes together into a rhythm. Into something beautiful. Eight ghost objects that speak again: computer-controlled, choreographed, amplified. Perhaps for the first time in their history, these machines do not sound like exploitation, but bring forth beauty. Dark, cast-iron objects that finally sing. SEWING MACHINE ORCHESTRA Now on view in Berlin at @himmelunterberlin, Vol. III, through 8 November 2026. Twelve vintage Singer sewing machines become a kinetic orchestra of sound and light. Activated by computer and amplified through contact microphones, these familiar domestic objects awaken in a mechanical crescendo. Their movements and shadows evoke the industrial past, family histories and the materiality of collective memory. #MediaArt #SoundArt #KineticArt #LightArt #InstallationArt BerlinArt by @martin___messier___
