Over the last 13 days the Loynd family went on a road trip up the California coast and into Oregon.
-Day 1 we started off going to movie road in the Alabama hills. We then went to the bristlecone pines State Park and camped nearby.
-Day 2 we packed up and went by the Sierra Nevada on our way to Bodie ghost town. We continued on the road and took a quick stretch through Nevada and back to Cali at Lake Tahoe where we camped at Emerald Bay State Park.
-Day 3 after leaving Tahoe we went to the Marshall gold discovery center in Coloma; we took a tour and panned for gold, from there to our hotel in Sacramento.
-Day 4 we went by the capital from our hotel to the Sacramento train museum and then hung out in old Sacramento. We went to mass at Saint Francis Catholic Church; same hotel tonight.
-Day 5 we left late to drive up the coast to historic Fort Ross. This day we stayed at a motel in Fort Bragg where we could go to the glass sand beach and walk around the area.
-Day 6 a windy road up the coast from Fort Bragg and we got to Confusion Hill, a roadside attraction. We then drove down the avenue of the giants to see redwoods up the whole road. Then we camped at Elk Prairie campground while we were surrounded by banana slugs.
-Day 7 we left the campground and drove almost the whole day up to Eugene Oregon to visit the fam that lives up there; we stayed at an Airbnb and had dinner with the family.
-Day 8 we mainly just hung out at our family's house and talked, we had lunch, ice cream then later in the day we went to a baseball game at the Eugene Emeralds, we stayed at the same Airbnb.
-Day 9 we left and drove back into California and past Mt Shasta and went for a quick hike at Burney Falls before settling into a KOA close by.
-Day 10 we left the KOA and drove through Lassen National Park stopping along the way, then a regional park camp in Santa Rosa.
-Day 11 left the camp fast to drive through San Francisco and visit the Disney museum there. We then went to a motel in Monterey and Mass at the Carmel Mission Basilica.
-Day 12 we went to the Monterey Aquarium then left to drive to Flying Flags resort in Buellton.
-Day 13 we had a quick breakfast and drove the rest. by @martinaloynd

My boy is an Eagle Scout. Tonight he has his board of review which is the final step is earning the highest rank in Scouting. He has worked hard and we are so proud! by @martinaloynd

A huge thank you to everyone who helped me with both days of my eagle project at the North Etiwanda Preserve. I really couldn't have done it without your hard work and support. The project really went better than I thought it would. by @martinaloynd

And so it begins. The first day of Ryan's Eagle scout project started today at 8 am and they already have the first sign finished!!!!
A big thank you to his troop and the rangers at the etiwanda preserve for putting in some strong wotk!!⚜️💪 by @martinaloynd
