Top 11th European surfing 🌍

I’m left with the feeling that things could have gone better, yet I’m also grateful. I felt good competing again—this time without anxiety and with a clear head. I realized the importance of having a consistent routine—and, above all, a clear one—before my heats. I had been missing that structure—set times for waking up, eating well, warming up, and getting into the right mindset—and now I want to take it seriously. I’m walking away stronger, with renewed confidence and the right mindset, ready to grow and face future challenges with no regrets.

Desde novo, sempre me diziam que eu era parecido com o Arran, que parecia o seu irmão mais novo. Por isso, hoje acordei e custou-me muito receber a notícia de que ele já não está entre nós.

Pela primeira vez na vida senti o que é perder um amigo. Apesar da diferença de idades e de não sermos os mais próximos, o Arran foi uma pessoa que marcou o meu percurso. Ensinou-me a estar na água, a lidar com a frustração, a ser mais destemido e a acreditar que era capaz de ultrapassar os meus próprios limites.

Quero agradecer-lhe por ter sido sempre uma joia de pessoa comigo. Foi uma verdadeira inspiração, especialmente nas ondas maiores e mais pesadas. Espero um dia conseguir honrar o exemplo que me deixou e surfar com a mesma coragem que sempre demonstrou.

Descansa em paz, grande Arran. Nunca serás esquecido. 🤍🌊

Ever since I was young, people always told me I looked like Arran—like his younger brother. That’s why it was so hard to wake up today to the news that he is no longer with us.

For the first time in my life, I’ve experienced what it means to lose a friend. Despite our age difference and the fact that we weren't the closest of friends, Arran played a significant role in my journey. He taught me how to handle the water and deal with frustration, how to be fearless, and how to believe that I could push past my own limits.

I want to thank him for always being such a wonderful person to me. He was a true inspiration, especially when facing the biggest, heaviest waves. I hope that one day I can honor the example he set and surf with the same courage he always showed.

Um dos campeonatos que vai ser mais difícil de digerir, erros atrás de erros heat após heat sempre com algum em falta.
Ao longo do campeonato foi passando alguns heats mas sempre com o surf que não é o meu , mesmo sabendo que estava lá o surf forte e pronto para ser usado não consegui ao longo das três oportunidades que tive usá-lo, o que me deixa mais frustrado ter o surf lá, conhecer a onda como pouca gente conhece bastante dedicação a este pico ao longo de toda a minha vida para depois acabar em erros parvos, o que me faz ficar desiludido comigo mesmo. Pois sendo um campeonato tão importante e com o um objetivo claro ser campeão nacional, isto não é um sinal que acabou mas sim que um novo ciclo que vai começar e que me vai dar mais motivação mais disciplina para me tornar o surfista que assim quero tenho a consciência que foi uma erro que consegui tornar numa aprendizagem o que me fez querer ainda mais ,aquilo que já cria e ficar obcecado pelo sucesso que quero tanto ter.

About the contest in my opinion was positive the first heat was good not the highest scores but finally some good surf for my part, about off the second heat a lot off mistakes , who genuinely make me has more hanger to get a better result and show my best surf. taken in Ericeira by @martinho__barros
