In 2025 I joined a one-of-a-kind photographic project that resulted in the collective exhibition and publication entitled "Changes: Dalle mani agli occhi. Un racconto per immagini". Promoted by the @opificiodellepietredure and @fondazione_changes, and produced by @fondazionestudiomarangoni, it brought together established artists with students and alumni from our school. Today on my blog I talk about this experience and share a selection of images in my gallery. Click link in bio to see the full article! by @martmaranga

diventa parte dell’immagine.

—

Anticipating the discoveries that await me at Les Rencontres d’Arles 2026, I know I must curb my tendency for compulsive buying. My photography book collection has grown exponentially over the past year, and shelf space has finally become a premium.

Today on my blog you will find a focus on 4 volumes I picked up during my photographic pilgrimages:
1) Filippo Barbero – Borderland (Witty Books)
2) Bas Ketelaers – Edges of Landscape (The Eriskay Connection)
3)Catherine Lemblé – Only Barely Still (The Eriskay Connection)
4) Giovanna Silva – City, I Listen to Your Heart. Milan (Humboldt Books)

Today on my blog you will find an interview that is very dear to me. This entire conversation was set in motion by a sudden, unexpected email that arrived in my inbox earlier this month. The sender was Sofia Williams, the daughter of a former photography student of mine, Jamie Tuttle. Her message carried a profound dual weight. Read more via the link in bio.

On the blog you can find my chat with dear friend @wolkejay, on the occasion of the upcoming exhibition Changes: governare i cambiamenti, innovare la cultura.

I am so glad to announce that this incredible project—developed by @fondazionestudiomarangoni in collaboration with the historic @opificiodellepietredure —will be opening this Thursday, May 28th at 6:00 PM at the fsmgallery.

The exhibition uses contemporary photography to open up the complex world of cultural restoration and scientific conservation. To bridge the gap between creative freedom and historical documentation, we needed powerful artistic voices. Among the many talented artists involved, Jay’s vision perfectly captures the essence of this initiative, and I couldn't be happier to share our conversation with you ahead of the big night.

I first met @abelardomorell in 1999 at the @eastmanmuseum in Rochester, New York - we immediately clicked (pun intended!) and within a year he was visiting me in Tuscany and creating a camera obscura in my house, where he returned many times, as you can see from this gallery of images.

This year, @fondazionestudiomarangoni is paying tribute to his legacy with a collective exhibition titled "Archive Dialogues: La Misura del Visibile". Open March 6th through April 24, the show features his images from my personal collection alongside a selection of works curated from our recent Open Call, where artists responded to the core concepts of Abelardo’s vision.

Check out my link in bio to read our recent chat where we share memories, thoughts and our love for philosophical places.
