“Soft oblongs of vibrant pink and deep orange-red diffuse across Silence Paintings 15 (2026), their airbrushed transitions appearing weightless and atmospheric. Metal brackets wrap around the painting without fully enclosing it, while the two descending oval fields overlap along the central axis. Their fading contours recall a pair of lungs. Nemes’s colour fields align with Lee Ufan’s proposition of painting as exhalation, turning invisible bodily reflex into visible trace.” @hannaclaris

for the very first time i was asked to write a musical piece for an orchestra and to choreograph a whole concept for an orchestra house.
this was one of the biggest musical challenges i have ever had - but it was worth it!

$A glimpse into ‘Lebenswelt’ at @1301sw_au in Sydney💖🔥 “The practices of Jonny Niesche, Anselm Reyle, and Márton Nemes converge in a shared fascination with colour, surface, materiality, and embodied presence. Lebenswelt unfolds as a microcosm of its own: colour fields permeate rounded walls, suspended neon tubes punctuate space, and coloured lights refract from mirrored bars. Drawing on the inherited languages of postwar abstraction, impressions of popular culture, and the music scenes they gravitate towards, their worlds coalesce here as variations on a theme. I played an experimental spoken word, post classical and ambient set for @1301sw_au (for the Lebenswelt show - @jonnyhonky @anselm_reyle and @martonnemes) which ramped up gradually to acid techno.

It was such a pleasure playing on the @monument_audio_ sound system.
What a crazy rig ❤️

Rooted in a long-standing appreciation of one another’s work, my dialogue with Anselm builds on last year’s parallel shows, ‘Back to Back to Back’, in Berlin and Leipzig with @christianholze.

As a continuation of our previous project with Jonny Niesche, ‘The Beauty That You See in Me is a Reflection of You’, this collaboration also welcomes Anselm Reyle into the conversation.

“Colour performs itself. [...] Niesche treats colour as both a material and a perceptual event. Cosmetic sheen and glam-rock aesthetics mingle with echoes of Minimalism, Op Art, and Colour Field painting.” @hannaclaris
