At the heart of it all, there is a terrified and lonely child. A child afraid to show the wrong emotions, a child afraid of doing wrong and becoming more unlovable, a child desperately trying to keep everything together because that child is shit scared of being alone, afraid of being abandoned. 😞

I’m working my way towards that child but there’s years upon years of hurt and heartbreak and pain and trauma to work through. Years of others peoples bullshit mixed with my own that I’m sifting through piece by piece.💯

One of the hardest things I’ve tried to come to terms with is that in order to simply survive and exist and keep the peace I had to abandon myself. Sure there were still little glimpses of me from time to time like my love of gym climbing and music and other little quirks but an awful lot of me was left behind as I tried my best to be someone for everyone. 🤦🏼

Now, years later I struggle with a great many depressive symptoms, I am chronically tired, I have a thousand great plans and intentions that my motivation simply runs away from when the time comes, l am very sociable at work but it’s a mask, I’m very socially withdrawn in truth. Tired in my bones and my brain. Numb to a lot of life or overwhelmed emotionally by silly scenes on television.

I’m a mess, eating my feelings, unable to find the keys to start up my engine again. Trying to drown out an inner critic that were it a physical being I would love to kick the shit out of. 👊🏼
It’s a long running theme, a repetitive cycle that I’m finding quite difficult to disassemble into component parts. That’s the problem with complex ptsd….
It’s all a big collection of different symptoms and issues that wrap themselves intricately around every part of your being.

It’s one of the key components from #cptsdrecovery❤️‍🩹 #partnerbetrayaltrauma
You have to face, accept, & work though it…so it loses its power to not change or define who you are 💯😎🫶🏼🫡 ….. PROTECT THE LOVE YOU SHARE

A healthy relationship grows when two people learn to speak with kindness, especially when emotions are high. 🫶🏼💯

Never use someone’s past, insecurities, or sensitive places as weapons. Some wounds are carried silently because love teaches us to protect, not provoke.
Words spoken in anger may contain truth, but truth without, compassion can turn into pain and once spoken, some words can never be taken back. I MEAN NEVER !!!!!!
Love is not about winning an argument; it is about protecting the heart of the person you chose to walk beside. Something a lot of people have FORGOTTEN 🤯😔 by @martyk78
