Another Skyline Sun Hoodie from @learnmyog made with Alpha Direct from @discoveryfabrics for my niece. I love the colour combination she chose and I added a wee detail around the thumb holes and the neck facing. A labour of love #softarmor from @threadandsprout. A great pattern and so easy to follow. I was entrusted to make this and the fabric was chosen by my daughter; such a great colour combination. The quilt pattern, also chosen by my daughter, is Carpenter Star designed by @magalinalatvia. Well this is what happens when creative people get together. When @cadesmades came for a visit we thought ‘project time’ and he brought his leather crafting tools and supplies. Part of the project was trying out Cyanotype technique on leather and it turned out gorgeous. He does great leather work if you’re looking for something. Well, I can finally post this #highfantasyquilt I finished for a gift that was given. When @anya_j asked me to make a quilt for her partner @dallas.andrews I jumped at the opportunity to sew something for someone else. What I hadn’t realized or imagined is the challenge I gave myself. I was successful only because the pattern and instructions for this quilt by @fancyladquiltco is so well designed and so well written. I was able to test my sewing skills, colour choices and fabric mix. The border fabrics from @simplififabric was a conscious choice as the mountain pattern - even to the point of quilting it in a mountain free quilt pattern - supports the storyline. This is one project I will always remember, value and be proud of. Thank you to all (Steven , specifically as my encourager) who contributed in ways you may not realize. by @mary50

I so enjoy sewing for others. This fabric from @oursocialfabric has been in my stash and it finally got realized into the @jalie_patterns Frederic Hoodie 3884. He is happy to have a well fitting hoodie that gives warmth, even though I’ve challenged his conservative fashion sense with stripes and loud colour pocket zippers. Love this hoodie jacket pattern from @jalie_patterns I took my time with it and love the result. Of course I used remnants from @discoveryfabrics that I had yet to use, and again it all works out. I do like buying remnants from @discoveryfabrics and it might take a bit to decide what to create but the fabric always shines through. This hoodie from @roadtrippatternco is a great pattern to sew up, easy instructions to follow and is very versatile. I didn’t use an elastic cord in the hood and I added an insert in the undersleeve-the last pic-when you grow up on a farm you lift heavy things and get big muscles that don’t go away - it’s a thing. When I order remnants from @discoveryfabrics I typically wait to be inspired with how to use it. I greatly appreciate the time and energy that @discoveryfabrics puts into their Remnants Page. Then this #maritimspullover pattern from @paulinealice_patterns popped up and it completed the cycle of inspiration. I wanted something that gave me room to move and layer as I will use it mostly for xcountry skiing, not that I want summer to be done, it was the next project ready to be sewn. by @mary50

I do love the winter even more so when there’s enough snow for skiing. I am also so proud that I can say I’m wearing me-made outdoor gear all the way from base, mid and outer. We also get to stop along the trail to feed the chickadees. This just brightens my day and preps me for the week. #xcountryskiing #memade #wintersport #winter #wildlife #peaceful by @mary50
