Our team has worked on these products for the last 18 months and I am incredibly proud to finally share them with you today.

As always bringing something new into the world doesn’t come without its challenges… the last few weeks have definitely thrown an entirely new meaning to that. Launching products amongst newborn life… the mum guilt of being under the same roof but taking time away from him to work… feeding between meetings… trying to work out how to do both and reminding myself I’m very lucky that I get to but allowing the tears some days because it is also really hard.
However today has been incredible seeing something we’ve worked so hard on for so long finally out in the world and seeing BONNIE continue to grow. I’m so very happy I can finally share these babies with you.

This week I wrote an email to our @bebonnieskin community about the 2/3 rule. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of it, but basically it’s hair, makeup, outfit… the theory being if you get 2 of those 3 sorted then you feel a little more put together and ready for the day. I’ve always had my own version of that… the 2/4… Tan, Hair, Makeup, Outfit.

Postpartum / recovery is challenging and finding any time for myself with a newborn while being one handed for most of it is definitely a learning curve. But on the days I’ve had an extra set of hands (and I am so thankful for my village) I’ve made sure I’ve washed and done my hair or put some gradual tan on and gosh I’ve just felt so much more like myself because of it. I definitely don’t have 2/4 every day right now but when I do… it’s enough to feel good. by @mary_oh_

Nothing compares to the feeling of finally having you here. We love you more than words could ever say and meeting you has been the greatest privilege of our lives. Arriving on 27 August, a happy, healthy 9lbs and 56cm of chunky cuteness.

Photos and outfits mixed in from these last few weeks.
This week is definitely feeling different, my body is slowing down… while I’ve been on baby watch hoping my big boy (tracking above the 98th percentile!!!!) might decide to join us a little early, I’m still working, somehow managed to breathe my way through two mat Pilates classes and I finally packed my hospital bag so that feels like an accomplishment.
I’ve stopped wearing my rings just in case of a swelling emergency, but happy my favourite shoes still fit and I’ve had some fun bedazzling things because the trend is all over my home feed. We are ready when you are angel bebe. 👼🏼 by @mary_oh_

I spoke with the NZ Herald this week about building BONNIE while trying to build a family and how those two journeys have existed side by side. I’ve always said BONNIE is my first baby… and in so many ways she most definitely still is. 🤍 The proudest moments of building this business have also sat right alongside some of the hardest moments of our lives and I opened up during this conversation because I’m in a stronger place with it now, but also because I know so many people are carrying things nobody else can see. Building businesses, building careers, building families, navigating loss… sometimes all at once.

One thing this journey has taught me is that joy and grief can coexist. Feeling proud of one part of your life doesn’t mean another part isn’t incredibly hard… one doesn’t take away from the other. While my journey to starting a family has a happy ending, I know so many people are still waiting for theirs… if that’s you please know my heart is with you and that I hope you find the strength to keep going.
