POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I'm so excited to announce the release of the book 'Evil Is Me' by The Place Press @theplacephilly a combined exploration of the horror inspired art of Philadelphia artist David Schmuckler and myself.
The book includes extensive catalogues of our art, an artist interview, behind the scenes type photos, and a wonderful original essay by the publishers Samantha Mitchell and Virginia Fleming!
The online project includes a an audio reading and description for the sight impaired, a playlist of music selected by me and David, and a section of 'Extras'.
This is an amazing long in development project! Please go to @theplacephilly or thismustbetheplace.org to see the entire project and order a copy of the book!

Interview published today on @bruiser_mag ! There was a very fun part of this interview where me and Jess, who wrote the interview, started making up stories together from my watercolors, which I'm really happy got included in this. by @marybeth_chew

Recent animation paint experiment, taking the pictures on my phone. It was of course fun but also there's a wrongness feeling that you have to erase your paintings one after the other doing this. by @marybeth_chew

Wonderful opening at Area 405 last night for Sweaty Everything!!! It's an engrossing and fun show and I'm so happy to be included! I was so busy looking at everything that I forgot to take pictures after about a minute, but this is me and one of the curators, Emily, Ryan, and Io reflected in the cool Popeye themed mirror by Hedy Ward.

There are events through the month which are listed in the second image. I'll take more pictures at one of the events!
The open gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 1-4.

Congratulations for this awesome show and thank you @animationloveaffair !! by @marybeth_chew

I'm excited to be included in the show 'Sweaty Everything' at Area 409 Baltimore, opening next Friday the 9th. This is a show all of art that is related to ideas of animation, and the physical art show accompanying the Sweaty Eyeball Animation Festival @sweatyeyeballsanimation

Thank you @animationloveaffair for including my work and for curating such a cool show!

Second image is a bit of one of my pieces that will be in the show, on loan from @mattklospainting , which I'm really enjoying seeing again! It's from stills of the striptease scene in the film version of 'Call of the Wild', even though the book and movie are actually about a dog, so of course just the ridiculousness of movies created this moment, and then also this painting. by @marybeth_chew

Landscape demo on toned paper from class today, after talking about embracing the view you have. This is online so the students go off to draw for set times, and I get to keep working on my drawing while waiting. by @marybeth_chew
