POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last weekend, The Seeds, a moving solarpunk short film, wandered out of the rehearsal room and into the woods for a dress rehearsal on location.

Here are a few glimpses from that day: some work, some play, some figuring-it-out, and a little bit of winged magic beginning to take flight. ✨

More from The Seeds soon. For now, welcome to our woods. 🌿🪽 by @marysarahactor

It is deeply humbling to introduce Invisible Lines, born from years of witnessing what often lives in silence, and marking my debut as a writer, director, and producer.

In it, we step into subject matter around silence, power, perception, and sexual violence — and what happens when truth collides with narrative.

Deep gratitude to Sandra Anahi Camargo, Anzhonny Castillo, Ron Dale West, Lindsay Williams, and Carlos Stewart, whose care and dedication provided such sensitivity and scope.

This is just the beginning.✨

Time is such a gift.
This past week, I celebrated my 30+ year friendship with my soul sister and had the joy of honoring my dear friend Leslie as she received an Honorary Doctorate recognizing more than four decades of humanitarian work and the creation of communication games that have impacted lives around the world. (www.playtohealhub.com)

Along the way, there were buggy rides, laughter, and much gratitude. Two dearest friends share an evening NYC buggy ride to celebrate their May Birthdays and 30 years of friendship. The buggy is lighted from the inside with a big I LOVE New York sign and glittering beautiful purple color! by @marysarahactor

This story asked something of me.

In Mom’s Message, I play Dina — a woman holding a love that was never fully lived, and never fully released.

This is my first LGBTQIA+ role, and it asked me to step into silence, longing, and the quiet truths people carry across time.

Guided by a dream, a daughter searches for answers about her mother… only to discover the message she thought she understood wasn’t the one meant for her.

This film, written and directed by Sandra Anahi Camargo, explores identity, culture, and the courage it takes to live honestly. As a Bolivian American artist, she brings a deeply personal lens, opening dialogue—particularly where certain experiences have long been held in silence.

I’m deeply grateful to be part of a project that holds so much tenderness and emotional honesty.

I’m so happy to share these photos from the SOVAS Voice Arts Awards.

Something happened that I’m still holding with reverence.

At the end of the celebration, I had one of those unexpected conversations that changes the temperature in your body — the kind where someone reflects your path back to you in a way that feels true.
This year’s Voice Arts® APEX Award for 2026 (Legacy Award winner,) Fabian Toro (@torovoiceover), invited me into a collaborative dialogue rooted in spirit — and in the voice as a portal for transformation. Fabian’s work is deeply soulful, vast and inspiring.

I was moved beyond words and to tears.

He also shared the words inscribed on his Legacy Award:

“This central eye not only sees, but also feels and understands, connecting joy and sorrow without separating them. It is the point of connection between what is shown and what is felt internally, the wisdom that guides the actor’s voice: Intuition.”

I’ll be carrying that with me.
Celebrating the artists and community who make this work so meaningful.

Grateful to SOVAS and the Voice Arts Awards for creating a space that illuminates voice and storytelling.

What a privilege it is to be altered, moved,
and invited to see in new ways.

I’m honored to share that I’ve been nominated for a SOVAS Voice Arts® Award — a recognition that feels both tender and profound. Founded by Joan Baker and Rudy Gaskins, these awards celebrate the art of giving voice to the human experience.

Thank you to MaryLu Tyndall for entrusting me with, The Resolute, a story that speaks to all ruptured lives finding their way back to connection.

I’m grateful for this moment… and for every storyteller who lights the way.

“I paint flowers so they will not die.” — Frida Kahlo 🌺
We’re thrilled to celebrate the launch of Deer Light Studios with a project that embodies such courage and emotional truth.
It was an honor to direct and record the audiotour for Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray, now featured at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Voiced by Jennifer Cortez, this collaboration celebrates Frida’s enduring spirit — transparent passion, raw vulnerability, and voice that still transcends time.
🎧 Rooted. Radiant. Heard.

“Some characters live in the shadows… And for a few days, I joined them.”
— This dark fantasy role in my first ever music video was one of the most challenging experiences I’ve had in a while. It’s been some time since I’ve stepped onto a set and being back was so comforting. The collaboration, the transformation and the chance to fully go to a place I’ve never been before. The role took away my sight and agency and embedded me into a character who lived in fear as a puppet of someone much more powerful. Things we may be able to relate to …. Feeling blind and without a voice. But then, the laughter between takes, the joy in each others company as we created a story bigger than us. I’m deeply grateful to the cast and crew who made it possible. Thank you for letting me disappear into this world for a little while. #ActorLife #OnSet #DarkFantasy#GratitudeinAction by @marysarahactor

We’re thrilled to celebrate Mary Sarah’s Animation Demo, directed by the phenomenal Cristina Medina (Milizia)! With almost two decades of acting and VO experience, Mary came to the table ready to grow, and grow she did. Her performance is bold, layered, and full of emotional depth. Every character bursts to life with heart, nuance, and unmistakable voice!

Here’s what Mary had to say about the journey:

“Cristina’s demo production process.... PURE ALCHEMY. ✨

I came to the animation world feeling that this was an exciting step in my acting/vo career. I have been a working actor/vo artist for 15 years and was seeking someone who could take what I brought to the table to the next level.
Finding Cristina was a true gift.
Cristina’s process is built on what lives in you and what speaks to you. It is a full-on dive into the depths of yourself! My months of character preparation became a place of profound discovery where I got to unearth parts of myself—some I knew, some that surprised me, find out who they were, where they lived and what emotions they inhabited.... and then, ah yes.. to embody their voice and manners, body and spirit.
In the final rehearsals, you improvise, and build worlds where these characters come alive within the scenes. This for me was REVELATORY!! This is where the magic happens!

The result? Liberating! Joyful! Heart-Bursting!

Namaste, Cristina.... You’re the absolute BEST!”
