We never take medals ➡️
or EXTRAordinary event weekends
for granted.
Both take A LOT to get right🤯❣️

On the eve of Berlin, Boulderthon, Warsaw & others, I’m still smiling big thinking about the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Copenhagen last weekend. 🇩🇰

Hard-earned, exciting USA medals, amazing performances from athletes around the world, and great industry moments.

Huge CONGRATS dear athletes and
WOW, what a job by Sparta & World Athletics! 🙌

And a big shoutout to our Let’s Do This team working alongside the Sparta team launching the ’27 Copenhagen Half ballot. Last chances to apply. I highly recommend it! 🎉❣️

Here’s hoping those great Copenhagen vibes carry forward to everyone running, organizing, volunteering, cheering & supporting tomorrow! 📣🙌❣️ by @marywruns

Fall marathon season ❣️
Who is running or supporting this weekend? Berlin? Boulder? Elsewhere? Yay to all of you - and today I want to add a special shoutout to our friends in Warsaw.

It was a treat to be there last night as the Expo was coming to life, and to run through the streets of Warsaw this morning (while listening to a @citiusmag podcast with Poland’s @klaudia.kazimierska and thinking, too, about her fellow world-class endurance star from Poland, cyclist @kasianiewiadoma94 🇵🇱).

What a history this marathon has - and how connected it feels to the roots of NYC and so many of the great city marathons.

Started as the Peace Marathon in 1979, founded by Tomasz Hopfer and journalists, with almost 2,000 runners. That was just three years after New York expanded to all five boroughs in 1976, two years after Chicago began in 1977, and the same year marathons launched in Montreal, Stockholm, Rio and Istanbul.

It was also the year Chris Brasher ran New York, returned home inspired, and began pursuing the dream that became the London Marathon two years later in 1981.

All part of that extraordinary late-’70s/early-’80s movement that helped transform big-city marathons and still evolving and growing today.

In the early years, winners received works of art as prizes - I love that - and the race proved remarkably resilient, continuing through extraordinarily difficult periods, including martial law in 1981 and, in a very different way, Covid in 2020.

There is something about the way this city, meaning its people, has rebuilt itself that reminds me of NYC. I hadn’t been there in over 30 years and while far too short, I loved this trip back.

And I love discovering the threads connecting runners and organizers across countries, races and generations.
This year Chicago’s Carey Pinkowski and Lisbon and Madrid marathon leaders will be there among others.

Sending loads of good wishes to Marek, Magda & team on 25 editions leading the modern era since taking it on in 2002, and surpassing 10K marathoners while starting the next chapter as a European Marathon Classic.

All the good vibes to everyone running, volunteering and cheering this weekend 🙌❣️ by @marywruns

Part 1 ~

I am overwhelmed in the best way as I continue to process all that took place over three unforgettable days in St. Louis. Every day I shed tears. Some were witnessed. Some were quiet. All of them were special.

We hear testimonies all the time, but to live your own to reflect on how far you’ve come, where you’re going, and to stand fully present in the moment is almost unreal. What I thought were simple conversations to build relationshis, openly sharing my passion and vision, God was using to guide me straight into one of the biggest blessings and answered prayers of my life.

There’s still so much to unpack, but above all else, I’m thankful to God for an unshakable, unmovable faith and the courage to boldly stand before 300+ people and speak out loud what I want for my life and what I believe He has already prepared for me. Those in the room felt it and so did I.

When I think about my life and all that God has done, my soul cries out, Hallelujah! 🙌🏾
This was more than a conference. This was confirmation.

I’m humbly grateful to serve alongside the 2026 Running USA LEAD Collective 10 incredible leaders who bonded instantly and became family. I’m excited for us to grow together, do more, and leave our mark on Running USA history.

Now… it’s time to stop sitting back.

It’s time to propel forward like never before.

Shine bright like a diamond… 💎

Confirmed. Called. Aligned. And moving forward ON PURPOSE.

To God be the glory! 🙌🏾🙏🏾

Jeremiah 29:11 💜💛🦋

Special shout-out to those I spent extra time with during the conference your presence and conversations poured into me more than you know:
Shawn Sullivan, Michael Clemons, Leah Etling, Mary Wittenberg, Jack Fleming, Tina Muir, Sam Browne, Jared Matheney, Kathleen Titus, Michael Nishi, Meghan Najera, @ronnelblackmon Blackmon, James Dowell Jr, Jackie Hoffman, Michelle Juehrin, J. Solle, and India Calloway.
And to so many others ...thank you!!! This is only the beginning.

Wow, do I appreciate you, @ted_deluxe.
Always have.
Always will.
I’ll remember what you said and what you did (to join us in STL for an hour 🤯).
And, as always with you, I will never forget how you make me and oh so many thousands and thousands feel (thank you Maya Angelou).
Much more to report later on an awesome Running USA conference, but I can’t get deeper into my first day back without a giant shout of appreciation for you, Ted. You are amazing. 📸 @croptopeddie 💗 by @marywruns
