Go figure. Even the underwear drawer isn't safe from the patriarchy. 🙄 And because apparently this warrants actual research, here are the receipts: 📏 Size matters: Women's front jeans pockets are 48% shorter and 6.5% narrower than men's. Only 40% of women's jeans tested could fit an iPhone X, compared with 100% of men's. (Diehm & Thomas, The Pudding, 2018) 👖 Quantity matters: A study of children's clothing found an average of 4 pockets on boys' garments versus 2 on girls'. And 52% of girls' garments had at least one fake pocket. (Martindale et al., 2021) 📚 This goes way back: The gender politics of pockets have been around for centuries. (Burman, 2002; Matthews, 2010) What's the most ridiculous pocket injustice you've personally experienced? 👀 #womenspockets #pocketinjustice #smashthepatriarchy #fuckthepatriarchy by @marz_attack
Is two decades of dreaming big and pouring all my heart and soul into producing fantastic experiences and building community, and still managing to show up in full force and in full glam… too much? Never. And I don’t plan on slowing down. I will always double down on being *extra*. Thank you to everyone who puts their trust in my vision and leadership and shares their time and talents to make it all come to life — I couldn’t do it without you, and I wouldn’t want to. Here’s to making beautiful things happen, lifting each other up, and never, ever making ourselves smaller to fit someone else’s expectations. More is more. Shout out to @osullivanstudios for the incredible footage 🙏 by @marz_attack
Walking the @kostumekult runway at @cityofgodsfestival and being announced by the legendary @christopher212nyc never gets old — always such a treat. 🤩 But what’s even more rewarding is getting to produce such an iconic part of a tremendous event: bringing joy to so many people with our runway, spotlighting so many amazing costumes, and doing it all with my beloved, hardworking, @kostumekult family, a stellar volunteer crew and the kick-ass teams of @cityofgodsfestival and @houseofyesnyc . 🫶 Looking forward to an even bigger and better spectacle next year as we ramp up for Saturday’s Village Halloween Parade @nychalloween . 🎃 Thanks @zepvalue for the video 🙏 by @marz_attack
Is 20 seconds of footage worth testing the limits of friendship? “Marz, come to the afters!” “But guys, I’m feeling extra clever and I’m already glammed up, so I absolutely, super urgently must shoot a reel.” Cut to: @janiseri letting me rearrange her room to build the set, @pcfwrk and @thecompanysoundsystem tag-teaming camera duty, everybody getting a turn in the director’s chair, and “one more take” becoming a bold-faced lie. Behind every Marz reel is a tiny, extremely patient production crew I cannot afford. 💕 🙏 Forever grateful to the friends who continue to enthusiastically enable my creative impulses. 🥰 by @marz_attack

Every once in a while, someone discovers @kostumekult and it feels like they’ve been part of the family all along. 🫶💜✨ Ronnie reached out offering to gift us a bunch of his handmade light-up creations 🎩⚡️🌈 just because he thought they’d find a happy home with our community. 🥹 A few days later, he was giving us a FaceTime tour of his wild @the_space_barn studio… and we were wondering how we’d never found each other before. 🤯🪩✨ Stay tuned for Part 2: Ronnie comes to Bushwick with a trunk full of gifts. 🚙🎁✨ by @marz_attack
Ladies, when packing for a sleepover don’t forget to bring your own snack 😋 … and kitchen tools 🤣 by @marz_attack
No, the boy with a crush on you didn’t write the lyrics, compose the melody, or even perform a cover. But in the prehistoric cassette days, he sat by the radio with his finger hovering over record, waiting to catch each perfect song at just the right moment so they landed in exactly the right order, all while praying the DJ wouldn’t talk over the intro. None of it was technically original. But the selection, the sequence, and the sweet intention created a tiny custom world made specifically for you, carrying its own little hidden message of affection. Thoughtless AI slop is just the Top 40 with your name scribbled on it. But something clever, specific, and unmistakably you, made because someone knew it would delight you? That’s the mixtape. Be still my heart. 🤖 💜📼 by @marz_attack
