قطعة موسيقية فنية تفاعلية عبارة عن منجور إلكتروني - تتفعل وتسبب صوت خشخشة من خلال صوت (صفقة) أو حركة… مصنوعة من الأكريلك والحديد وخيط حداق ومجموعة من ا‎لإلكترونيات واجهزة الاستشعار

‎هذا الڤيديو هو شرح صناعة وتصميم القطعة من بداية البحث إلى التنفيذ

The Electronic Manjur, an interactive musical art piece. The piece is activated by sound and motion creating a rattle sound making it essentially an artistic instrument. The piece was made usin acrylic, metal, fishing line, and an electronic system with sensors.

This is a video that explains the whole creative process from research all the way to execution.

You can see the final result at the end of the video as well as in the next post. You’ll also find imagery and the complete final diagrams.

في عمل منيرة الشامي "البچر" ، تعبر أنماط السدو إلى فضاءٍ رقمي، حيث تتخذ الخيوط المألوفة أشكالاً جديدة وتنسج حكاياتٍ تمتد بين الذاكرة والابتكار.

⁨ «البچَر» أو «البِكْر» هي كلمة عربية مستخدمة تحديدًا في اللهجة الخليجية. تشير إلى أوّل الأبناء في العائلة. لكن للكلمة معنى آخر أيضًا، وهذا المعنى حوّلها الشعب إلى مَثَل يُقال للدلالة على الشخص الذي يحمل قدرًا كبيرًا من الفخر، لكنه في الوقت نفسه مُثقَل طوال حياته بشعور عميق بالمسؤولية. وتُستخدم كذلك كصفة تُلصَق بالأوّل من الأبناء، بوصفه يحمل مزيجًا دقيقًا من صفات الأم والأب معًا.

هذا المشروع تجربة سمعية–بصرية تُترجم هذا المزيج، حيث يمثّل كل عنصر فيها جزءًا من تلك الهوية المختلطة. الموسيقى، الجماليات، والتكوين كلّها نابعة من هوية البِكر كامرأة عربية بدوية معاصرة.

تبدأ الرحلة من الأب، ثم تنتقل إلى الأم، قبل أن تتحوّل إلى تسلسل بصري/سمعي يجمع بينهما لرمز البكر: أسرع، أكثر طاقة، وتتضمن ألوان وأشكال وحركات جديدة ومعاصرة.

“Firstborn” (البچر) is an Arabic term home to the specific Khaleeji dialect. As implied by the translation, it is a reference to an immediate family’s first born child. However, it also holds a different meaning; that meaning has turned this single word into somewhat of a proverb. One that implies a person that holds great pride but is riddled throughout their life with great responsibility. It is also used as an adjective to the first born child quite forcibly as the one that holds all an exact mixture of the characteristics of the mother and father.

This combination manifests into an audio/visual experience where the music, aesthetics, and composition come from the firstborn’s identity as a modern bedouin Arab woman. The journey starts with the father, and then travels to the mother. It then takes shape as a combined sequence representing the daughter that is faster, more energetic, and inviting of new colours, shapes, and movement.

Thanks to ‪‪‪‪‪‪@aliaalshamsi‬si‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ and her whole team, this art piece was commissioned as part of a group exhibition in the inauguration of House of Arts in Expo City

Munirah AlShami is a multimedia artist and creative scientist whose practice blends traditional craft with emerging technologies, working at the intersection of cultural heritage, sustainability, and innovation. Ghizlan is a progressive reinterpretation and reimagining of the divider wall found in traditional Bedouin tents, where Sadu weaving originated. The tent wall, a source of privacy, a woven artwork, and a filter for light, is presented as a contemporary expression of traditional Sadu weaving.

Sadu carries algorithmic origins and a clear mathematical structure, making it naturally adaptable to a digital form, says Kuwaiti artist Munirah AlShami. Presented during a celebration at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Washington, her work reimagines traditional Kuwaiti sadu through an innovative digital lens.
