Choo choo! Hop on, next stop is the self publication station! This free zine event is a loosely guided workshop to teach basic zine making. We will briefly touch on the history of zines and how they helped us in the past, and we will explore how they can keep empowering us today - through telling our stories, expressing truths, and forging connections with others. We will come together to create a supportive, creative space to make zines across different genres and purposes.

An instructional zine with a variety of prompts will be provided, as well as paper, markers, scissors, glue, and collage materials (like magazines). Feel free to bring extra materials like scissors and glue, as well as anything you would like to draw with!

this was truly a dream come true🕺🕺🕺🌈🪩💪🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦drag has become an amazing outlet for me to channel the grief, uncertainty, as well as the joys of connecting to my language, culture, and queerness.

This act was truly bursting out of me🤸‍♂️🎆🏄‍♂️🏋‍♂️. anyone who's experienced it knows it's exhausting hiding parts of yourself because they've never belonged somewhere before, or the world made you feel like those parts will never belong anywhere. 👽🫂👾🫆
We're going to be bumpin my favorite songs together🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃👯‍♀️ and you're going to have fun even if you don't know the words🙀🙉🙈🤬. I'm going to show you that my culture has always been so much more than the "tragedy" label put on us. When I tell people I'm from Ukraine, many say "I'm so sorry." I know they are trying to show kindness, but I've never been sorry about where I'm from and you shouldn't be sorry either. 🤧😿🙅‍♂️🙅‍♀️

this fr came from such a vulnerable place. in 2021 it suddenly became so much harder to be Ukrainian, everyone had an opinion on it, perceptions of me and where I come from. I learned, more than ever before, how to hide parts of myself to keep them safe. this is part of a big journey for me, and an incredibly healing performance to do 🫂🛫🧠🤯😻🥰🫶🤟☮️💌🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️🌐🗺🌎🌱🌾🏵

I finally got to save a horse and show y'all how to ride a cowboy! Rooster Cage is always the best time!!

Most of my performances (esp dance) have been mostly improvising with a few mentally planned parts, I bet a lot of people's are as well, but I'm excited to actually choreograph some stuff

ALSO in the dressing room someone mistook me for another bearded person who has actual hair growing on their face instead of my mascara beard and the gender euphoria was surging thru me

Truly was an honor even breathing the same air as these amazing performers, I'm excited to see you all keep shining!!!

You all showed me how burlesque is so powerful, the freedom in reclaiming your body as a instrument for expression, dance, letting your creativity flow by playing with desire.

Can't wait to watch the next showcase!
