On February 6, 2025, we saw Liberation for the first time when it was off-Broadway. 360 days later, we saw the closing performance. 360 days, like 360 degrees. And the show closed right as the moon was reaching its fullest.

Liberation was – is – an incredible play by Bess Wohl. It made me think and feel, celebrate and mourn, laugh and cry, be part of a sisterhood and have solidarity. I have honestly never experienced anything like it at the theater. I still have so much more to say about the play, the cast, the performances… more in time.

6 years ago on December 31, 2016 @smleichty and I were officially married at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre by our friend @jenngambatese was starring in a show there at the time and she officiated our small and relaxed wedding with two of our friends as guests: @helloamyrae and @richardschuylerhooke 🥰

We wore t-shirts with the words @lin_manuel had passionately proclaimed at the 2016 Tonys saying “Love is Love” 🏳️‍🌈(thank you to Luis at @teerico_linman for being so kind and helpful).

The pre-show bustle and rituals of Broadway were going on, and in the midst of it, we were quietly officially wed 💍 ending with Jenn singing “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” 🎩🎉

After, our friends joined us for lunch at our favorite and now-closed restaurant, Bann (Korean bbq!), and then Sabrina and I went to see the closing performance of Fiddler on the Roof - a story of three daughters following their hearts into marriage - and met Sheldon Harnick, who signed a Playbill for us.

It was a special day, but also just like any other day - friends, food, Broadway. Isn’t that marriage? It is so special, but it is also just making tea and dinner and plans, together with someone you love. Happy 6 Married and I love you so. 💗

Happy Birthday (still, in Central Time) to @btrain06 who is one of the best people out there. The Leo-est Leo to ever Leo. The Huffliest Hufflepuff. Our Kramer. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Last year, the parent of two piano students got me an advent calendar of tea from @palaisdesthesusa and it was a delightful way to spend the month of December. We had to do it again this year!

Our rule is that we have to try every single tea (at least a sip or two). I found several we loved last year including ones I didn’t even expect at all.

My last photo with Baba (my grandmother) 💔 from less than a week ago, Wednesday 6/30. So glad we stopped in to see her.

As we hugged goodbye, we exchanged I Love Yous and she clearly said “take care of each other.” 💞 Wise words to live by. I hope we all learn to take care of each other. 💗

The artwork behind her on the wall was my birthday gift to her when she turned 90: a canvas with the names of her children, their spouses, grandchildren, their spouses, and great-grandchildren (swipe to see).
