16 weeks carrying you inside of me so that I can carry you forever in my heart 🕊️

No amount of time could have prepared our hearts for the news we received at my 16 week appointment that our baby boy no longer had a heartbeat. Suddenly and unexpectedly, every emotion of joy, hope, and giddiness for our future with you turned into sadness and fear for the uncertainty of what was to come.

24 weeks too early we walked into the hospital and met our son. It was devastating and peaceful all at once, getting the chance to memorize every inch of your tiny body, then all too soon having to say goodbye.

I had so many hopes, dreams, and plans for who you would be, and so quickly our life changed. You were the most beautiful little boy and now one thing I know for sure is that you’ll forever be your mom and dad’s guardian angel.

No words can describe the level of heartbreak and emptiness that we are left with. As the world continues to spin around us, we feel left with so many unanswered questions, wishing this wasn’t our reality.

While our time together was cut entirely too short, I feel so blessed to have been your safe space for 4 months. I’m forever changed by the time I had with you & I fully believe that some day we will be together again. Being your mommy is the best thing I’ve ever known & it showed me a level of love I never knew existed within me.
