Yesterday was the end of an incredibly transformative 2 years of my life. I cannot express the amount of growth I have had as a human, musician, composer, bassoonist, teacher, and reed maker throughout my time at LSU. To all my teachers and mentors @nanci_belmont followed by @parkeroboeprof and @marabama
Y’all have helped me in so many ways that are so much more meaningful than “just the music.” To the friends I made while I was here: I love you all so much and I know that, as we’re all leaving the bayou to go kick butt everywhere else, we’re all gonna do absolutely amazing things ✨🫰🏼

New Music Alert!! Here is my new piece for bassoon ensemble! It's a fun, satirical horror story that's meant to make people laugh more than anything lol. As an ensemble, there are five parts with divicis everywhere with many opportunities to feature selected members of the ensemble on all parts! A HUGE thank you to my teacher Dr. @nanci_belmont and my peers at @geaux.lsu.bassoons for workshopping, rehearsing, premiering, and performing the piece with me this year!! Hope you enjoy!! #newmusic #bassoon #doublereeds #bassoonist #composer by @masoncoxmusic

New Music Alert!!!
"An Exceptionally Murderous Escape Room" is a new piece for bassoon ensemble or bassoon quintet. Premiered by the @geaux.lsu.bassoons studio at the @mqbassoon symposium earlier this year, this piece is a satirical take on a horror story. Fun for all parts, there are multiphonics, a low A, reed crows, stomping, an aleatoric beginning, and divisis to accommodate a flexible amount of bassoonists to perform the piece. Recording (from @midsouthidrs this last weekend) coming soon!!! 😊

Meg Quigley 2025 reflection post (woooooo!)

This year’s symposium was I think the biggest show of persistence, courage, compassion, and community I think I have ever experienced in the music field. I can not describe how grateful I am for the entire exec team especially @wellsbassoon and @nlasak for not only starting me on my journey with bassoon but introducing me to so many professionals in the field. A special shoutout too to @jennibrandonmusic for her mentorship and of course @nanci_belmont for asking me to premiere a new work at the first night reception AND getting all of her studio to MQVC (#geauxtigers).

Feeling inspired for more salon performances in the near future ;)
