On December 13th, 2022, I had a normal checkup with my eye doctor. They had just been donated a new machine 2 weeks prior that takes pictures of the retina. I ended up having pictures taken of my eye that day just to be safe. A few hours later, I was called back to the doctor, as it was clear that I had a retinal detachment in my eye and needed emergency surgery to repair it. I was at the time half a millimeter from going blind. December 14th I had gone up to Nashville to the closest pediatric eye surgeon to receive this surgery. My eye was to be frozen and have a silicon buckle put around it to reattach my retina in a long, 4 hour surgery. Yet, the only thing I could think about was when I could return to playing, but the doctor said I could end up out up to 4 months. I was also told prior to the surgery, that it is one the most painful procedures possible. However, within the next month I would return to playing with a new eye prescription and story to tell. If it weren’t for the man above, and some miraculous timing, I would likely be blind in my left eye. THANK YOU LORD! I have been blessed with the opportunity to be playing this soon and am thankful every day. by @masonhighers8
