My daddy held my hand through everything in my life… and even when he wasn’t physically there, his words and lessons carried me through anything.

My father was an unforgettable force. A visionary, a man of deep faith who loved God and people with his whole heart. He gave so freely, touched lives all over the world, and led so many.

But to me… he was my poppa bear.
My foundation. My safe place.

I was never too old to sit on my daddy’s lap… and I’ll hold on to that forever. If you knew him, you KNEW he was a fighter! He battled dementia for 8 long years until his very last breath.

The hardest part is you lose them twice… once to the disease, and again when they leave this earth. Both times hurt just as bad.
But even in this pain, I take strength in knowing he’s in the presence of our Lord.

Thank you, daddy… for EVERYTHING.
For believing in me.
For shaping me.
For showing me what faith, passion, and consistency look like… and for leading me to God.

You loved being celebrated, and I loved planning all your birthday parties and celebrating you. Now it’s bittersweet to do the same but to honor your life and say goodbye.
Your smile lives in me forever. I’ll think of you in worship, when I read your favorite scriptures… and even whenever I have something sweet, it was always your favorite 🥹

I would give anything to hear you call me by my nickname again… to feel your belly on my heart when you would give me big bear hugs.

To the very first man I ever loved…
I’ll carry you with me always.
Rest in sweet peace in the presence of our Lord 🕊️
