Just finished all the Tales of the Jedi shorts. The Dooku ones were pretty great. Sometimes I felt they ran into cliched story arcs or characterizations but they were enjoyable for me regardless. The Ahsoka ones were kind of just whatever imo. Interested to hear other people’s thoughts. Also, there was a fantastic Andor episode this week. With 4 episodes left in the season, I think it’s safe to say this is clearly the best Star Wars show out there. All the early praise was rightfully deserved. Andor is legit in every sense. Need more shows run by people with this type of writing and production chops. by @master_bong_krell

A passage that perfectly captures the essence of the Rule of Two and the unique relationship between Vader and Sidious. While Lords of the Sith does not feature the Sith as much as advertised, the parts that do are phenomenal. The quote here about the relationship between Sith master and apprentice being “symbiotic” is right on the nose. A lot of fans think that the master has little incentive to help the apprentice grow powerful. This is wrong. As discussed in my last post, the apprentice is an extension of the master’s will. The apprentice’s power IS the master’s power, and the Sith are obsessed with power. This is why Sidious wanted Vader as his apprentice despite the fact that he would’ve easily surpassed him in power. It was simply too tempting to resist. This is why Sidious still wanted Vader to grow powerful even after Mustafar (in canon at least). And it’s why he later wanted Luke as his apprentice. I also love the last slide, as it shows how Vader really still revered Palpatine as a father figure. Another common misconception is that he always held a grudge against Palpatine, which is not true. He only did after learning the truth about Luke. by @master_bong_krell

Explaining the Rule of Two.
-
I really hope the concepts in the last two slides get expanded on in future material. Overall, I think there’s a lot of good discussion to be had about the Rule of Two and whether it was a good system. Might make a separate post on that. It seems like every Sith Lord starting with Darth Tenebrous never really embraced the concept as Darth Bane intended. I don’t think Bane’s vision was perfect either though and I can get into that more in the future. by @master_bong_krell

Addressing misconceptions about the Mortis arc and how it defines balance in the Force.
-
Some fans believe that the Mortis arc kind of flipped the script on what “balance” is in Star Wars by treating the subject as much more of a “ying-yang” thing. I explain here why it didn’t really flip the script at all — what Mortis shows aligns with what we see in the movies and all other major material when it comes to the concept of balance. by @master_bong_krell

Just finished watching the first three episodes. If you have, what are your thoughts? Comments and caption below will have spoilers.

Episode 3 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨. What a sequence in those last 5 minutes. I’m really glad they released the three episodes together. The first two episodes were needed to lay the ground work and that came to fruition in the third one. A lot of people have been saying it — tonally, this is exactly what Star Wars needs. Finally feels like a show that takes itself seriously. It could be a normal TV thriller and I mean that in a good way. And the trajectory feels promising. The whole political aspect with Mon Mothma and Luther has me really excited and will no doubt come into the fold soon. Not much more to say. Just want to reiterate how great episode 3 was. The two security officers are also hilarious. That is what we call good, organic humor. by @master_bong_krell
