Masterartclasses is pleased to share a recap of Sola Olulode’s (@solaolulode) one week experience with us. A British-Nigerian artist currently on a six-week residency at @gasfoundation Lagos, Sola joined our studio for an intensive one week in person class on Àdìre Elékó (Starch Resist) and Àdìre Alábéré (Stitched Resist). Working across stencilling, freehand, and stitching, her practice draws deeply from Nigerian textile traditions and themes of care, tenderness, and queer joy. It was a pleasure having her create, learn, and exchange with artists from different parts of the world at Masterartclasses Class of 2025.
