Jackie Robinson #42 , the first African American to play in Major League Baseball. Jackie stole home 19 times in the regular season and once in the World Series. He broke the baseball "color barrier" on April 15, 1947 when he played first base for the #BrooklynDodgers . Born January 31, 1919 and fed on October 24, 1972. So this is me along with my family. We were passing through from Vancouver to Seattle and of course we made a detour to visit the #FunkoHQ during its opening week. We ALL acted like little kids, went crazy buying #Funko products, and of course taking pictures and videos. We definitely are a #FunkoFamily. Reflecting on my 2nd and 3rd chapter of my martial arts journey. Chapter 4 (coming soon) I'm still working on it, I'm only 43! My first chapter (Taekwondo days) I need to find some pictures of!

Looking back, sometimes we take for granted the imprint that we receive from those that have influenced our lives. At work, I've come across people that have never interacted or even know a black belt, but maybe they know a billionaire or musician. There are many realms of influence that dictate our purpose. I've just been thankful to see those that have helped me pave a way for me to continue living out this journey that I love and will forever be a student of.

I'm not bragging, I'm just reflecting on those that I've had the honor of training and talking with. Martial artists and philosophy go hand in hand. My mentor who I didn't put in this picture, Alexa Ledezma trained with Brandon Lee in San Francisco. In my mind, I'm like "wow I've been influenced by someone who's trained with and is related to Bruce Lee. Then Minotauro Nogueira and Anderson Silva decide to open an MMA gym next to my job. Looking back that's what I call destiny. That interest of doing Muay Thai and boxing lead to the Brazilian Jiujitsu coach, Daniel Valverde telling me try it out. Next thing I know this guy who's almost half my weight, @coachpabloalfonso dominated me in less than a minute. Then @thomdemicco shows up from Jersey and becomes one of my lifelong professors and best friend's. That unlocked a new world for me that I'm continuing to climb until, God willing, chapters 8 and 9! As someone with a Master's in Forensic Accounting working in service, who would've thought that my hobby and passion for martial arts would lead me to train with Hall of Fame legends, to training in NYC and Brazil, to where I am now. I'm in no rush to get to the next level. As long as I'm able to stay active, and continue learn and train on a weekly basis then the journey is presently fulfilling 🙏
@gsppodcastofficial I believe our conversation back in January 2010 influenced you to come to Miami three weeks later! GSP found it crazy that a Miami guy visited TriStar Montreal in January! by @mastersmoothie

Daddy Daughter Day 🦄
Took my baby girls to Round 1 while the wifey was out of town. I love these occasions. They're not easy to deal with. Especially when the little one throws a tantrum, but the smiles and laughs that come with the silly moments are priceless.

After all these years of knowing each other on IG. I finally got the chance to meet up with @bryan_roxs @toneybgrammin @m.f_jana . On my way to Iceberg Lake in Glacier National Park. I stopped to take a snack break. This little ground squirrel 🐿️ became my model for my first shot 📸 on this epic hiking trip. The Columbian Ground Squirrel 🐿️ apparently spends 75-80% of it's life hibernating. You can only see them for about 2-4 months. This dude was ready to pose!

Since the last World Cup in the USA (1994), technology and social media have brought the world closer than ever. We get to witness different cultures, share our stories, and sharpen one another. Proverbs 27:17.

I just returned home to Miami after an unforgettable hiking adventure in Glacier National Park, Montana. Watching the World Cup on my Delta flights and seeing so many fans wearing jerseys reminded me how sports can instantly unite strangers.

Coming back from Japan, then experiencing Montana during the World Cup, I couldn't help but reflect on everything Japan has shared with the world—anime, martial arts, discipline, storytelling, craftsmanship, and culture. As a millennial, it's been amazing to watch that influence grow since 1994.

On the trails, my hiking brothers and I—coming from different backgrounds—watched Brazil vs. Japan together, learned from one another, and appreciated what each culture brings. That's how we level up.

One thought keeps staying with me: if you have an idea, pursue it. Build it. If you're going to fail, fail fast. Keep growing.

Grateful to God for another adventure, another lesson, and another chapter. May 5, 2026 - Moving like Naruto this morning. I was up early and had the chance to take some pics at the Kiyomizu-dera Temple which opened at 6am. I made it to the Koyasu Pagoda and thought this is the perfect spot for me to bring out Naruto (anime I'm currently watching) and remember this moment. Me running all over the Ginza district, trying to make the most out of my time. Meanwhile my family slept at the hotel for a few more hours. Also, at this point in time, I finally made it the Shippuden episodes - Season 2. I'm appreciating the series much more and loving the martial arts philosophy the series educated us with. Looking forward to what's next!

The pagoda is officially known as Koyasu-no-to. It is a stunning, three-story vermilion pagoda located in the southern precincts of the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto, Japan. Built in 1633, it is dedicated to Kannon, the goddess of mercy, and is historically revered by expectant mothers who pray for safe and easy childbirth.

Roger Gracie, the 🐐 and King Charles met today at Roger's academy. Looking at this moment in history, made me think what this moment would look like if it were the 1400s. A king visiting a Master Samurai's dojo! For those of us that have had the honor of training under Roger, this says a lot about his aura. Even the king of England recognizes Roger's positive influence in the community of martial arts. According to sources the king was there on a charity engagement for military veterans dealing with physical, mental, and social challenges. May 5, 2026 - Kyoto - Yasaka Shrine. I made the effort to get up at 5am to make the most out of this experience. To take some pictures and make the most out of my time without the heavy crowd of visitors that flood this area during peak hours. Plus it was nice having this time to myself and not having to attend to my family (they kept sleeping until about 8 am).

I brought along Sakonji Urokodaki to commemorate my visit in Kyoto. I had planned to do the Kurama to Kibune hike which has a statue that resembles Sakonji's mask. However that hike got cancelled after realizing how much walking we've already done the day before. My family was not up for such an adventure. Besides we changed the plans for a better experience - we rented Kimonos and had an adventure in the Ginza district (more pics to come on that).
