hello friends, been awhile

you may know me as a photographer but I also make art and i'm happy to share that my artwork 'mural of a muse' is being exhibited in belgium this week both at ghent and at the physical art crush gallery in brussels

I'd like to thank @artcrushgallery, @sendrock & unknowncollector for facilitating and curating this exhibition and including me amongst the other talented artists

'my heart aches this is my cellotape'

the act of making art can be soothing of sorts, this is an older work of mine with those same sentiments, a continuation of my exploration of editing techniques and perhaps an expression of my inner turmoil. It is a photograph of the moon taken by phone, digitally manipulated to give the look of a page you might find in a child's notebook; the string implies a connection.

i have minted a new artwork on the @objktcom marketplace called 'we trace tomorrow in our discreetly separated hands'

it is part of the iconae collection curated by @cinziagabrielph with the theme being broad based 'the knot'

the title is like the words written signifying the separate tomorrows i will trace from others due to my disorder, a knot i carry in my conscience and shown visually as the string making its way around the words and my hands

the words 'in our' are projected onto my hand from an overhead projector

it's from another poem that was being projected into a space and i put my hands in front of the projected words and took a picture, this was years ago from an art display at the kochi biennale, i used it to make this artwork by editing it in post

the artwork is designed to look like a folded page from a notebook, the string implies a connection between me and the viewer or perhaps me and my younger self who had different expectations of my future, or as i mentioned between me and the separate tomorrows i will trace from others

a portrait of my friend @mildoptimist

this portrait was taken at a tofu shop a few years ago in yelahanka and i thought the sign went well with his smile

when nitin started his first proper job I went with him to his office on the other side of bangalore (electronic city) to collect his work laptop

it took us the whole day, at the time he didn't know I was taking medication for my condition but he expressed his gratitude i spent the day to come with him on this time consuming and physically draining journey

on the way back on his bike i was the pillion rider, and a little bit along the way i had a seizure on my neck and jaw due to my medication and i told him i need to put my arm across his back and rest my head so that I can hold it steady until the seizure stops

he was fine with it and he didn't mind, it seems like the bare minimum now but we live in a world where things like one's masculinity is questioned when expressing acts of kindness like allowing another man to rest his arm and head on your back

it's been many years since then and we've argued at times, we debate politics a lot as well, and life changes your priorities so we don't hang out as much as we used to but i am glad we became friends by @mat.nova

'i don't know you enough to love you'

this is an artwork i created to express the disconnect between someone's affection for me and my emotions about it

the person was someone who i didn't know that well but they were kind which i appreciated but they told me they wanted me and making this artwork was a way for me to express my inability to reciprocate without being a person who would take advantage of the situation and hurt her

the artwork is a photograph of the moon i took on my phone and edited in post, the string represents both a connection between her and i and the viewer and me, perhaps you do not know me well enough to like me or my art for example

the work is designed to look like an old page from a child's notebook

the work, like my other artworks, was minted on the tezos blockchain and can be accessed on my @objktcom page

"El sembrador de solidaridad" is an artwork I created using the assistance of AI and modified by my hand to put forth a rich tapestry of symbolism specifically chosen to represent Colombian national identity, cultural history, natural heritage and solidarity between India and Colombia.

Based on the stylistic composition of a painting called "El Sembrador" by the Colombian artist Lucy Tejada, this artwork weaves explicit Colombian icons into the modernist structure and was created to help raise funds to assist those affected by the earthquake that hit Colombia on August 10th, 2026.

What is presented 👇🏼

1. The National Symbols
These are the most direct references to Colombia as a nation-state.

The Flag (Yellow, Blue, Red)

The National Flower (Orchid)

The National Tree (Wax Palms)

2. The Core Identity - The Indigenous and The Modern Figure

The central figure represents the foundational bedrock of Colombian identity.

The "Living Artifact" and Syncretism: The figure crouches, powerful and rooted to the earth. Its surface appears to be carved from stone or wood. The skin is covered in intricate, geometric tattoos and carvings. These patterns are not random; they reference pre-Columbian designs from cultures such as the Muisca, Tayrona, and Quimbaya.

3. Wealth and History (The Left Hand)
The figure’s left hand holds two types of historical Colombian wealth.

Pre-Columbian Gold (Tunjos):

Golden Coffee Beans: Interspersed with the Tunjos are small golden spheres. While they look like gold nuggets, they are stylized coffee beans (café)

4. The Landscape and Cosmology (The Background)

The Andes Mountains and Lagoons

The Muisca Sun Glyph

The painting serves as a visual allegory for "Mestizaje" (the merging of Indigenous, Spanish, and African heritage) that defines modern Colombia.

I have also added imagery to show the solidarity i wish to present between my country, India, and the people of Colombia.

I will be minting this as part of the #artists4colombia solidarity initiative on the @objktcom marketplace with all proceeds going to help the people of Colombia. by @mat.nova

hope you're all having a pleasant end to the work week this friday 💫

thought i would post about this photograph i took in ooty, tamil nadu, called "alpenglow" which was part of an exhibition at @bicblr a few years ago

the exhibition called "FutureFantastic" was an exemplification of the way art will take form and shape and be displayed in years to come and the narrative it can tell about the climate

the photograph was acquired by a few collectors years ago and is no longer for sale
