Fun fact, Bavaria used to be an independent kingdom until the Prussian’s came along and absorbed them into the German Empire. The Bavarians even invented the insult “Saupreiß” which means pig Prussian. Opa was born in Prussia and we sometimes joke that he sees Bavarians more as foreigners than real foreigners… (Edit: Bavaria was still a kingdom within the empire but not longer a sovereign international power.) by @matcha_marlene
