BRUNCH IN KYOTO!

At our Kyoto branch, we bake our sourdough focaccia fresh daily in collaboration with @braudpocket.kyoto

We’re open from 9 AM to 9 PM, a great stop for breakfast before exploring Kiyomizudera, a takeaway picnic along the Kamogawa River, or a relaxing lunch upstairs with a beautiful river view. 🍃

🥪 FOCACCIA SANDWICHES

* Vegan Foca Sandwich
* Beef & Pickle Sandwich
* Cheese & Cold Cuts

🍓 FOCACCIA WITH TOPPINGS

* Blueberry & Strawberry
* Tomato & Onions
* Rosemary & Sea Salt

Pair your focaccia with your favorite matcha and enjoy a slower moment in Kyoto. 🍵💚

So our Kyoto store has been in soft launch for the past five days, and we have been so lucky to meet so many nice and kind people and we’re very grateful for everyone that came and visited us 🫶

Unfortunately though, during the first few days, a member of our team was targeted with a xenophobic attack both in person and online due to a minor language barrier.

In Japan, service culture sets an extraordinarily high standard of perfection. And as everyday life grows harder and economic pressure builds for many, it’s easy for stress to turn into frustration towards others. Taking that out on service workers or non-Japanese people is unfortunately not very uncommon, but it’s not the answer.

Our shop is a safe space for people of all backgrounds, nationalities, and cultures, both behind the counter and at our tables. We do not tolerate discrimination or abuse.

To everyone who has supported us, thank you for making our shop a place of warmth and connection 🫶 If you’ve visited us and enjoyed your time here, if you could take a moment to leave us a honest, positive review online that would mean the world to our team right now. We hope we can keep building a safe and welcoming community together.

Thank you again for your continued love and support! Can’t wait to see you here next time 🍵 by @matchapassport

We started Matcha Passport to be a bridge between the farm and your cup, to help you discover the journey of how tea leaves are grown, harvested, processed, and eventually turned into the matcha you enjoy. 🍃🍵 by @matchapassport
