The Corner Store has become one of NYC’s most recognizable hospitality brands, and it’s easy to see why. Every detail feels considered, from the design of the space to the service and even the matchbook you take home at the end of the night.

📍 Ladybird Books, Charleston, South Carolina

The most MAGICAL, beautiful bookstore I’ve been to in a while. If you’re in Charleston, this is a must !!!!! Everyone working there had such a nice, welcoming demeanor. So so so many options for fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, and stationary !!! Plus there’s so many other shopping options on King Street, so you can go wherever right afterwards 💓✨🕊️

🫧💭 What’s your favorite independent bookstore? Have you visited any good ones recently?

🔥 THE FUTURE OF MATCHBOOK TRADING IS HERE, AND IT’S NEVER BEEN EASIER.

The Matchbook Directory Trading Center is officially live, connecting matchbook collectors across the country and making it easier than ever to find the matchbooks you’ve been searching for.

Missed the matchbook at a restaurant? Trying to fill a gap in your collection? Live somewhere where matchbooks are harder to find? Or simply can’t travel to every restaurant, bar, hotel, and city on your wishlist?

Now the matchbooks can come to you.

List the matchbooks you’re ready to trade, browse what other collectors have available, and connect directly with other members to make a swap.

Whether you’re hunting for a restaurant matchbook from New York, a hotel matchbook from Los Angeles, a bar you visited years ago, or just that one book missing from your collection, the Trading Center gives collectors an entirely new way to participate in the hunt.

And that’s the part I’m most excited about: matchbook collecting shouldn’t be limited by where you live or how often you can travel.

Have duplicates? Put them back into circulation.
Missed one? See if another collector has it.
Can’t make it across the country? Trade with someone who can.

The Trading Center is currently in beta, and every new listing makes it more useful for the entire collecting community.

🔥 List. Discover. Connect. Trade.

The next era of matchbook collecting starts now at Matchbook Directory.

Paradisaea is one of Bird Rock’s gems and it’s earned a spot on the Michelin Guide for good reason. Thoughtful food, incredible cocktails, a beautiful space, and yes… they have PINK matchbooks. 🦜🌺💖 #ParadisaeaSD #BirdRock #MichelinGuide #MatchbookDirectory #SanDiegoEats taken in Bird Rock, San Diego by @matchbook_directory

The Happiest Hour in NYC gets a lot of attention for its cocktails and burger, but the matchbook deserves its own spotlight! Finished with gold foil accents and raised embossing, it feels more like a keepsake than a giveaway. Small details like this are what make restaurant branding memorable even after the last drink is gone!

San Diego is where Matchbook Directory began, so celebrating Pride through the colors of my collection felt especially fitting.

One of the first matchbooks I ever collected was from The Lafayette Hotel during Pride weekend. That small souvenir helped spark the idea for Matchbook Directory, a place dedicated to preserving the restaurant, bar, and hotel matchbooks that carry memories long after the night is over.

The cover photo shows The Lafayette lit up for Pride, followed by matchbooks from my collection arranged into a rainbow. They are not specifically Pride-edition matchbooks, just a colorful celebration of San Diego Pride and the city where this project started.

Happy San Diego Pride 🌈
